Summary
This position is responsible for directly supporting the VP /Controller in conducting all accounting and reporting activities. These activities will be done with timeliness and accuracy to ensure control of the organization's financial resources, ensure that it complies with all relevant accounting principles and provides exceptional decision support to senior management. The Director of Accounting will be responsible for supervising the monthly accounting close, including all related activities of the operating divisions, preparing consolidated financial statements, and completing month end and year end reporting packages.
Key Responsibilities
Primary support to VP & Controller
Manage team of 6 Staff Accountants / Accounting Managers
Supervise the preparation of consolidated internal and external financials statements
Assist in ensuring compliance with US GAAP
Lead the month end close and annual CPA audit
Supervise the preparation of journal entries, analyses, account reconciliations and other monthly close work, including, AR provisions, inventory reserves, intangible asset carrying values, etc.
Preparing federal and state governmental reporting
Liaison with outside tax accountants
Business partnering with divisions and departments
Assisting with divisional peer reviews
Other activities and special projects as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong analytical skills with a focus on details and accuracy

Previous experience with international operations including Canada and China
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA preferred but not required
Experience with CPG and selling to large US retailers (Costco, Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, TJX, etc...)
10+ years of related experience
Advanced technology skills with experience with Excel, ERP systems (preferably NetSuite)
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
