Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager with a unique blend of public and industry CPA experience to join our team. Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and budgeting, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in public accounting (audit/tax) and industry accounting, bringing a balanced perspective to financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring proper accounting treatment and presentation.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Develop and implement internal controls and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Oversee the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are recorded properly.
Review and prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and manage the audit process.
Provide financial analysis and support to management for decision-making.
Review and prepare management reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting principles, tax regulations, and industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and IT, to drive business performance.
Qualifications:
CPA certification (required).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a mix of public accounting (audit/tax) and industry experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience in the [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, etc.] is a plus.
Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
