Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and budgeting, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in public accounting (audit/tax) and industry accounting, bringing a balanced perspective to financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring proper accounting treatment and presentation.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Develop and implement internal controls and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are recorded properly.
• Review and prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and manage the audit process.
• Provide financial analysis and support to management for decision-making.
• Review and prepare management reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting principles, tax regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and IT, to drive business performance.

Qualifications:

• CPA certification (required).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a mix of public accounting (audit/tax) and industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience in the [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, etc.] is a plus.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
