Accounting Manager

StevenDouglas is partnered with an International, publicly traded Manufacturer to identify an Accounting Manager! This role will report directly to the Global Controller while overseeing a team of 2.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of the Company’s internal and external financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance
• Lead and oversee month-end/quarter/year-end closing activities, including consolidation of domestic and foreign subsidiaries
• Manage corporate accounting team members (2-3 direct reports), develop, and coach team members to reach their greatest potential and contribution to the Company
• Drive process improvement in global accounting close and reporting processes, work with Information Technology team to leverage technology when applicable to automate and streamline processes
• Maintain and enhance company policies and procedures in regards to recording financial transactions, financial reporting, developing estimates to be used for financial reporting and planning purposes, and internal controls
• Implement new and updated financial accounting standards and SEC guidance
• Establish strong working relations with both internal and external auditors related to quarterly review, annual audits, and internal control testing
• Communicate with senior management on accounting, audit, and financial reporting matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of experience
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• SEC knowledge preferred
