Accounting Associate

L.F. Jennings, Inc. is seeking an individual to join our accounting team in the role of Accounting Associate. This person should thrive in a role requiring attention to detail, be reliable, trustworthy, and enjoy working in a team. The individual should be proficient in accounting and tax preparation software, as well as standard systems such as Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and be able to learn other accounting software systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees day to day accounting activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and subcontracts.
• Assist with job cost accounting, compliance and contract change orders.
• Reconciles the daily cashflow checking accounts.
• Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Process oriented
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Familiarity with general contractor accounting software, such as Viewpoint or Procore, preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
