I used to be a big AI skeptic. And in some ways I still am. But the unlocks we’ve seen at Excedr from some of the AI-powered tools we’re using has turned me from an all-out skeptic into a believer. Here’s a few real-world examples of how we’re 10x-ing our team’s capacity thanks to AI. = LEGAL REVIEW = We recently added an AI-based document review tool for our legal team. It finds and highlights our non-negotiables automatically so they can get right to handling it instead of spending the bulk of their time just reviewing to identify those areas. It also makes all our contracts (in the 1,000s) queryable via a chat interface, which allows for quick insights. That means we don’t have to consider adding more legal staffing right now, even while we’re growing. HUGE cost-savings. Plus, legal can now focus on the work that actually engages their brains instead of putting them to sleep. = SOP CREATION = There’s a lot of fancy tools for this. We just use Loom. But instead of the typical workflow of “write the playbook, then record the Loom”... We record the Loom *first* – and then let their AI write the playbook off of that. It gets us about 80-90% of the way there, and saves us a TON of time on documenting our processes – which is already a huge productivity hack on its own. = NOTEBOOK LM = Nick and his whole team have become hardcore users of Notebook LM. The unlock here: connecting the dots and finding interesting insights between ideas. It’s helping them analyze interesting material from all sorts of different sources and find the throughlines. Because (shocker), computers are better and faster at pattern matching than humans. For Nick and his team, this helps them uncover more interesting angles and topics for Excedr’s content. But think about the application of similar technology for drug discovery? This is the world we live in, and it’s only just getting started. I’m finding these applications so much more interesting than “have ChatGPT answer your emails for you.” To me, it’s not about removing the human element – it’s amplifying it. #biotechnology #lifesciences #startups
