About us
YWCA USA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities. We are one of the oldest and largest women’s organizations in the nation, serving over 2 million women, girls, and their families. YWCA has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 160 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform. Today, we combine programming and advocacy in order to generate institutional change in three key areas: racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls.. This week, the U.S. House will vote on the SAVE Act (H.R. 22). If enacted, this bill will silence the voices of tens of millions of voters under the guise of preventing voter fraud, which is exceptionally rare. Disabled Americans, voters of color, Tribal voters, and anyone who’s changed their name – married people (mostly women), transgender voters, and survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence or stalking, will all either be unable to vote or will face significantly more barriers. Take action NOW.

ON AANHPI Equal Pay Day, we call on Congress to close loopholes in our current fair pay laws that are critical to closing the gender #WageGap, including anti-retaliation job protections. Legislators: Pass the PFA without delay! #AANHPIEqualPayDAY #ONEYWCA

On #AANHPIEqualPayDay, we highlight the persistent wage gap impacting Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women. While the average earnings show a 92-cent gap, many AANHPI women earn far less, facing barriers to pay equity due to racial and gender biases. #ONEYWCA
