Cultivating the power of diverse women and gender expansive youth to be creative leaders & courageous changemakers.
About us
Y-WE cultivates the power of diverse young women and gender expansive youth to be creative leaders and courageous changemakers through transformative programs within a collaborative community of belonging. We envision a society rooted in social justice, where all young women live their truth, achieve their dreams, and change our world. Y-WE’s mentorship and empowerment programs serve diverse young women, ages 13-26, and adult women mentors in the greater Seattle area. Each year, our programs directly serve 700+ girls and women and benefit 2,000+ community members. Of current Y-WE youth, 70% are first or second generation immigrants, 85% are of color and 90% are from low-income backgrounds. Y-WE is majority women-of-color-led, and we excel at creating meaningful engagement through culturally relevant programs supported by committed mentors. Our programs foster leadership development as young women explore education, community, health and self-care, career, creative arts, culture, social change and the environment. We cultivate courage in community as we work together to transform our culture.

🌸 Y-WE Bloom: A Celebration of Joy & Community 🌸 As Ijeoma Oluo reminds us, it’s important to focus not just on what we’re resisting, but on what we’re striving to create. 💖 This is the heart of Y-WE Bloom. In a world where oppression isolates and exhausts, joy is a radical force. At Y-WE, we create spaces where BIPOC girls and gender-expansive youth can breathe, belong, and dream freely. ✨ We nurture joy as resistance, creativity as power, and community as transformation. ✨ 📅 On April 5, gather with us in celebration—not just of Y-WE’s work, but of the thriving, courageous future we are building together. 💫 Y-WE Bloom is not a gala. It’s a night of: 🌟 Inspiring conversations (with Ijeoma Oluo & Y-WE’s Reagan Jackson) 🎭 Vibrant performances 📖 Youth storytelling 🎶 Collective joy A space to honor resilience, uplift changemakers, and invest in a future where every young person has what they need to flourish. 🌸 Come for the joy. Stay for the impact. Leave knowing you are part of something bigger. 🌸 ✨ Join us. Joy is resistance. ✨ 🔗https://lnkd.in/dppAxncF #YWEBloom #JoyIsResistance #CreativityIsPower #CommunityTransformation #YouthLeadership #YoungWomenEmpowered
