Is trying to achieve perfection holding you back? If you’re worried about making things perfect, you can forget to finish things off, mostly because you run out of time! And time is something that can’t be replaced. This morning I spent ages trying to figure out how I can flatten these flyaway hairs because I wanted my hair to look perfect so I could record a few videos. After a while, I got fed up and realised that it doesn't matter what I do, they’re not going to go down. I could have decided not to record the videos but I went in the other direction because I can guarantee not one of you even noticed my hair was sticking up until you read this! So if trying to be perfect is stopping you from doing things, take a step back and think ‘Why? Does this really matter in the bigger picture? I'm really pleased that I didn't let perfection stop me from doing this video. And here’s the big secret… Perfect doesn’t exist! There is no one standard of perfection, everybody sees things differently and 80% perfect to you might be 3000% perfect for somebody else. By thinking about this way, you’re more likely to get things finished and save yourself time to do more of the fun stuff you enjoy! Life is way too short to spend worrying about making things perfect when perfect isn't actually real. #perfection #lifeistooshort #worryless

I loved the radio advert I heard this morning from Tic Tac. It was brilliant and really memorable and a great example of marketing being done well. They hit all the right notes when it comes to marketing; speak to the right person at the right time with the right message! So simple, but so many brands often forget that it's not about what you want to say, it's about what your customers need to hear! #marketingsuccess #greatcampaign #tictac #yaystory

Become the person you are meant to be!
When life knocks you back - remember the best piece of advice I've ever been given from a female mentor: "You are not the person you are meant to be." The you of tomorrow is very proud of who you are today and you should be too. Happy International Women's Day. Keep crushing it ladies. Thank you Seetal Dhanak for keeping me on track. #IWD25 #LinkedInNewsUK #femalementor #advice You and Your Story

Exciting times here at You and Your Story!
As we hit the last week of February, (how we got here so quickly is beyond me) I just wanted to recap on the last couple of weeks. It was wonderful seeing Christopher Watkin last Monday, the same day we started renovating our kitchen (more on that later) It was good to touch base with clients and find out a little more about the great work that MALA - Midlands Asian Lawyers Association do in the community. This week, I’m looking forward to catching up with a couple of clients, heading to the IWD Conference & Expo at Millenium Point Property tomorrow plus some social media training later in the week. In the middle of it all, we’re getting our kitchen renovated and spent the weekend painting the ceiling, walls and skirting boards. By the end of this week, we should something that resembles a kitchen. This weekend will be spent looking for shiny new pots, pans and cutlery to match our new kitchen, right Shan Patel? 😉

You and Your Story reposted this
And just like that, it’s February! What a crazy but amazing start to the year, it’s been busy but lots of fun meeting lots of new people! I’ve been on a few webinars and learnt so much to help my business and my clients’ businesses. Last week, I loved meeting with Sam Hunt from Easy Storage at the lovely Pennbury Farm Very productive conversation with Pete Morgan from MonkeyPants Productions . It was also wonderful seeing Parvien A. again and meeting the lovely team behind MALA - Midlands Asian Lawyers Association at their first networking event of 2025 at &kith. What an inspirational group of people doing something amazing for the legal community and the cakes and drinks were delicious! I also managed to squeeze in some really lovely catch ups with my clients too including pushing a few out of their comfort zones 😊 And a wonderful trip to see the lovely team from Design Facility too! Looking forward to a fab week ahead, a few more webinars in the pipeline, some CPD work to write up for the CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing plus a catch up with Ady Alexander and a trip to London with Shan Patel #busy #business #comfortzone #clients

Lots more to come 😊
I’m finally taking my own advice, it’s taken me 4 years to build up the courage to do this but I did it. With the help of Seetal Dhanak and Kristie Atkins, professionalism of Jay Nandha and the courage from Shan Patel, I recorded a video – with me in it! Here’s to keeping up the momentum and a lot more content from You and Your Story throughout 2025 and beyond. Remember, You and Your Story is here to make sure YOUR Story is the one the world won’t forget! After an eventful 2024, 2025 is already off to a great start. I have my marketing plan ready for the year and know where I want to focus my business. I’ve got a calendar filled with meetings for January with some wonderful clients, prospects and networking sessions, I’ve set up a YouTube channel (more on that later…) It’s going to be a good year! As we all get back into the swing of things at work, here’s hoping you all have a wonderful year ahead and achieve everything you set out to!
