About us
Established in 1858, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago was created as a place where community members could find growth and support. Today, 165 years later, the YMCA of Metro Chicago has 14 centers, five camps, and nearly 100 extension sites, making the Y one of the largest social enterprises in Chicago. More than half a million individuals rely on the Y each year for social guidance and individual empowerment. The Y has remained at the heart and soul of personal development in Chicagoland and the Midwest and intends to do so for generations to come.

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago reposted this
What an incredible event! Congratulations to Bridge Industrial for emerging victorious at this year’s ARCO Madness as they beat out the other clients and vendors who joined in on the fun and were the last ones standing. This year, we partnered with the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago supporting youth sports programs and raising close to $10,000 to create sports opportunities for young athletes across Chicagoland. From the 3-vs-3 tournament to the epic dunk contest, the energy was electric! A huge thank you to our clients, vendors, participants, and volunteers for making this event unforgettable. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

We appreciate you, Lucia! ✨
As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month, I want to shine a light on the amazing women who keep the Y running. Meet Lucia Segovia—a devoted mom, loving wife, and the heart behind our community at Rauner YMCA. Lucia began her journey with us in 2023, as a Part-Time Membership Specialist. In just 10 months, her passion and dedication led her to step into the role of Community Concierge Director. Now, as she celebrates one year in that role (and nearly two years with the Y!), Lucia continues to inspire us all. In her current role as Community Experience Director, Lucia oversees membership, rentals, and Y KidZone. While her natural talent for operations and customer service has always been evident, this past year has ignited a new passion for community work. She’s seen firsthand the amazing impact that organizations like the Y have on local communities, and her journey is a testament to that power. Lucia shares, “What I love most about my job is the network of amazing people I get to work with and the resources I can activate to support others. I’m especially proud of the team at Rauner and incredibly grateful for the mentorship I’ve received along the way.” Thank you, Lucia, for all that you do. Your hard work and warm spirit light up our community every day.
