Birthday Musings & A Shout Out to George Foreman Today marks my 49th birthday! 🎉 It feels like just yesterday I was an Associate Analyst trainee at Moody's Corporation fresh out of college. I’m grateful to be celebrating this milestone with my family today. As I reflect on my journey, I’ve learned valuable lessons—both the highs and the challenges—that have shaped my career and personal growth. I was saddened to hear about the passing of George Foreman at 76. As a huge fan of boxing in the pre-MMA era, I admired his resilience and remarkable career reinvention. I still remember the iconic moment of George knocking out Michael Moorer at 45 to claim the WBA/IBF championships—a vivid reminder that it’s never too late to redefine yourself and rise even after tough setbacks. His legacy not only influenced my decision to launch XST Capital Group LLC from my kitchen table (but not selling grilles) but also pushed me to lace up my tennis shoes and return to serious tennis matches (even if my 8-15 UTR record shows I’m more Glass Joe- “Nintendo reference” than Big George, although my ambidextrous swings often surprise my opponents). 🎾 Here’s to embracing every lesson, celebrating every milestone, and continuously moving forward with drive and determination. Stepping Out of the Office and Onto the Mat 🧘♂️🧘♀️ Anyone that knows me well is aware that I’ve been a long-time practicioner of yoga in addition to one of the stakeholders in Souk Studio (www.soukstudio.com) a yoga studio in the Nomad district of NYC. Today, the XST Capital Group LLC team traded our desks for yoga mats for a team builder to connect with our interns and new employees. We challenged ourselves in new ways, broke a sweat together, and definitely stepped out of our comfort zones. It wasn’t just about the poses or the workout; it was about relieving stress and connecting with each other on a different level, in addition to sharing a few laughs at less flexible colleagues. Huge thanks to the incredible Ali Cramer for welcoming my colleagues particularly a few who that were yoga “rookies”.
