  • Meet Amaziah and Eshan 👋 Each week, these fantastic students from Sommerville School in Panmure step into a special kind of Woolworths – a Mini Woolies right inside their school! It’s a practical learning space that Sommerville School has had for 12 months now. Students can develop valuable real-world skills through hands-on activities like scanning groceries, handling play money, and stocking shelves; building their confidence and independence in a fun, supportive environment. The Mini Woolies programme provides opportunities for students with special educational needs to practice numeracy, literacy, and communication skills, empowering them for future experiences within their wider community. We're so proud to bring this initiative to Aotearoa New Zealand and make a positive difference in the communities we operate in across the country. #WoolworthsNZ #MiniWoolies #Community #Inclusion #Partnership #EducationNZ Bríd Drohan-Stewart Jason Stockill Pieter de Wet Matthew Grainger Vanessa Berry Charlotte Searle Sommerville School

  • 🟢 Meet the Woolworths New Zealand team 🟢 Justice is a Team Leader at our Primary Connect Distribution Centre in Wiri, Auckland! Primary Connect is the supply chain arm of Woolworths New Zealand - getting food and essentials to communities across the country each and every day. Justice has been part of our team for nearly seven years working across multiple departments at the Centre, including operations and inventory, before stepping into a leadership role. Now, as a Shift Team Leader, he takes great pride in guiding his team and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. Justice thrives on teamwork and engagement, making recognition a key part of his leadership approach. • Woolworths New Zealand was proud to celebrate with the LGBTQ+ community during last weekend’s Auckland Rainbow Parade 🌈💚 Some amazing people from our stores and support office teams donned their colours and took to the street to bring the noise and give out the snacks. As a business committed to diversity and inclusion, we are proud to be a part of this yearly tradition. A very happy Auckland Pride Month to all those who celebrate - we look forward to continuing to turn up in colour and with pride for all Kiwis. Ella McInerney Arohanui Kamu

  • Valentine's Day is about sharing love……and fresh food! 🍅 Did you know that Woolworths New Zealand sell over 50,000 bouquets during Valentine's week? That's 10 times the usual number! 🍅And 75% of flower buyers on Valentine's Day are men, most of whom only buy flowers once a year! So, we know flowers are a Valentine’s staple, but the question was "how can Woolworths reenvision a Valentine’s classic?” - A ‘food-quet’ is how!   We took the traditional look of a flower bouquet and recreated it into a "Fresh Bouquet" – a delicious and practical arrangement of basil, tomatoes, and spaghetti, perfect for a romantic meal. Popping up and two locations in Auckland over three days we gave out free fresh food-quets to Aucklanders. With amazing feedback so far, who knows, maybe food-quets will be a permanent feature in Woolies! Adele Biggs Bríd Drohan-Stewart Glenn Bewley Sam Gujer #ValentinesDay #FreshFood #Woolworths

  • Packing school lunches is a daily struggle many Kiwis are familiar with. And did you know that 64% of kids' lunches come home partially or completely uneaten at least once a week! As we kicked off the school year, this was a problem we wanted to tackle head on. We undertook a Macro Lunchbox survey to better understand how we can improve lunches! Our survey found that; - 69% of parents think their kids are fussier eaters than they were - 71% want to make school lunches healthier this year - Only 14% of kids make their own lunch - The top three uneaten lunch items are sandwiches, fresh fruit, and fresh vegetables We also know kids are more likely to make better food choices when they are involved in the process. So to help out, we launched the Micro Helpers activation. We organised four stations with each having three food options, allowing kids to create their own lunchboxes. Additionally, they learned about the importance of each food group and how they contribute to a balanced lunch. Stop by your local Woolies to help pack more goodness into your kids lunchboxes! 🍏 Conrad Webber Bríd Drohan-Stewart Andre Visser Jackie Beetham #SchoolLunches #HealthyEating #WoolworthsNZ
