This week we welcomed Shameema Sikder, MD, FACS to Wills Eye for the Joel and Roberta Porter Visiting Professor Lecture in Cataract and Primary Eye Care. Dr. Sikder, founding medical director of the Wilmer Eye Institute at Bethesda, is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare. She also serves as the director of the Center of Excellence for Ophthalmic Surgical Education and Training (OphSET) at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
