We had the pleasure of hosting SMPS Los Angeles at our office in El Segundo for the "Navigating the DSA" event. Attendees enjoyed a networking lunch followed by an insightful panel discussion. Our panel of DSA experts shared a comprehensive overview of the agency’s role, regulatory processes, and procedural requirements. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of how the DSA oversees inspection, construction, and plan review for school facilities, ensuring compliance with state regulations. The conversation also highlighted key challenges and opportunities when working with the DSA, offering practical strategies to help firms navigate this complex landscape. Special thanks to SMPS Los Angeles and to our panelists, Natassia Melendrez-Knutson (Project Support Services), Carey Upton (Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District), Shane Fitzgerald (John A. Martin & Associates, Inc.), and Jesse Urquidi (Cordoba Corporation) for his expert moderation. #ThoughtfulLeadership #WEBuildDreams #BuildingGreatRelationships

💯 As we celebrate #100Years, we're bringing together people who have shaped our journey through monthly virtual huddles, giving our #EmployeeOwners the chance to connect with the leaders who helped define our legacy. So far, we've had the honor of hosting Rich Erickson, the Roof family, and Mike Faron, each of whom played a pivotal role in shaping our company’s growth and culture. Our January guest was Rich Erickson (CEO 2002-2016) who began with O’Neil in 1973 in Chicago. In 1985, he established the company’s first California office, laying the foundation for groundbreaking projects in aerospace and infrastructure. Rich shared with us some great stories as well as his thoughts on defining career moments, company culture, what he’s proud of, and more. We welcomed the Roof Family in February. Our first expansion outside of Chicago was through our connection with Tom Roof, a well-known contractor in Arizona. In 1982, T.L. Roof & Associates Construction joined the family by becoming a subsidiary in Tucson, later expanding to Phoenix in 1985. Tom’s legacy continues through his children, Tommy Roof, LEED AP (Project Director) and Lynn R. (Business Systems Analyst), who both joined the company in the 1980s and remain valued employees of W.E. O’Neil today. Michael Faron, former Chicago President and Board member, joined our March huddle. Joining O’Neil in 1973, Mike was a key leader during a 50-year span that saw the company’s most expansive growth. We enjoyed hearing Mike discuss mentors and influential figures in his career, company growth and changes, advice for new leaders, and more. We look forward to more #ThoughtfulLeaders joining our calls throughout the rest of 2025! #WEBuildGreatRelationships #WEO100

We are pleased to announce the well-deserved promotion of Kevin Foltermann to Senior Vice President, overseeing operations for the #Texas region. Under his leadership, our Austin office has more than doubled its average annual revenue. We look forward to the ongoing impact of Kevin's skilled leadership.
