The latest iteration of the Weil European Distress Index sees rising corporate distress across the board in Europe, with Germany and the UK experiencing significant spikes. The report, which aggregates data from more than 3,750 listed corporates and financial market indicators, finds that low business confidence and elevated market volatility have driven distress levels to a six-month high across the continent, while a continuing re-orientation of global trade has piled pressure onto export-reliant economies. Weil’s European Restructuring team includes partners Andrew Wilkinson, Neil Devaney, Matt Benson, Jenny Davidson, Lois Deasey, Mark Lawford, Gemma Sage, Jean-Dominique Daudier de Cassini, Céline Domenget-Morin, Gerhard Schmidt, Britta Grauke and Dr. Matthias Eiden.
