  • At Waters, our work doesn't stop with the launch of new products - we continue to create application notes and protocols to help our customers use our products effectively. In the example below, Christian Reidy describes how his team automated a sample preparation method for oligonucleotide mapping following digestion with the novel RNases RapiZyme MC1 and Cusativin. Both the method and the automation protocol are available to help others minimize hands-on digestion time and variability, and achieve faster data interpretation of oligonucleotides. Take a look at Christian's post for more details. #SamplePreparation #LCMS #RNA

Digestion of RNA (𝘀𝗴𝗥𝗡𝗔 and 𝗺𝗥𝗡𝗔) with a 𝘙𝘕𝘢𝘴𝘦 is a common approach for in-depth characterization by LC-MS, referred to as 𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘶𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨. Manual digestion can takes time and can introduce unwanted variability. 💯🧬 After developing two novel RNases for digestion, we moved next to developing an 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 workflow to minimize hands on digestion time. Tatiana Johnston, Ph.D. Johnston, Ph.D. and I rolled up our sleeves to create a 45 minute starter protocol using: ✅RapiZyme MC1 & Cusativin for 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 digestion and higher sequence coverage ✂️ ✅ Andrew+ Robot automating 𝗮𝗹𝗹 pipetting and heating steps 🤖 ✅ MAP Sequence App for 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 data interpretation 🗺️ We are sharing this protocol to help others minimize hands-on digestion time, variability, and achieve faster data interpretation of sgRNA, and mRNA! ⏳ 📖 App Note 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢 𝘌𝘹 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢: https://lnkd.in/eVq3rwRY 🔗 OneLab Protocol: https://lnkd.in/eEDj5Xvm #RNAsequencing #AutomatedWorkflows #OligoMapping #GeneTherapy #sgRNA #mRNA #LCMS #WatersCorporation 🔔 Follow & Subscribe for insights on RNA, DNA, and delivery vehicle separations (e.g., VVs, LNPs)!

  • This week, we welcomed Bionow, a not-for-profit organization that supports the life science sector, to our office in Wilmslow to host an event focused on empowering women in biotech. The day featured insightful keynote talks about the serendipitous discovery of how fingerprints can reveal cancer, and one woman's ability to detect Parkinson's disease through her sense of smell. Panel discussions focused on women pioneering innovations in biotechnology and how to achieve both personal and professional success without burnout. The event provided a platform for attendees to share experiences, discuss career strategies, and expand their professional networks, underscoring the importance of supporting women at every stage of their biotech journey. Thank you to all of the attendees and speakers for making this event a success! #Bionow #WomenInBiotech #LifeSciences #Innovation #Leadership
