🏫❤️ Depoali Middle School is officially a #HeartSafeSchool! Today, staff, students, and community partners joined together to celebrate Depoali’s commitment to cardiac emergency preparedness and their award of a new AED from the #GetChargedUp! program. While all WCSD schools have AEDs and trained emergency teams, Depoali has gone the extra mile—enhancing their response plan, increasing CPR and AED training, and encouraging families to prioritize cardiac screenings. This dedication ensures they’re ready to respond in an emergency and potentially save lives. 👏 A huge thank you to Parent Heart Watch, Get Charged Up!, and our incredible educators and staff for making safety a priority. #WeAreWCSD #DepoaliMiddle

Tackling Chronic Absenteeism — One Hoodie at a Time! Traner Middle School is making big strides in improving attendance! Under the leadership of Lucy Dugan, the school has boosted attendance by an impressive 12% so far this school year — and that hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. When the RennerVation Foundation heard about this achievement, they stepped in with a special reward: every one of Traner’s 550 students received a stylish Foster Fashion sweatshirt and some well-deserved recognition earlier in March. 👏 This is just another amazing example of how Northern Nevada rallies behind its public-school students. 📸✨ Order in the Court! 🏛️⚖️ Before the break, fourth graders at Esther Bennett Elementary School put on their judge’s robes and stepped into the courtroom for a mock trial with Project REAL! 👨⚖️🎭 The case? 🤔 Did Harry Potter cast a spell that turned a chihuahua PINK? 🐶💖 Students heard testimony, debated the evidence, and learned how real court cases work—presided over by Nevada Supreme Court Justice Douglas Herndon!
