The Washington State Patrol has three openings for a Forensic Scientist 3 (in-training) at the Federal Way and Seattle Toxicology Laboratories. Forensic Scientists play a crucial role in public safety by connecting the commission of a crime with its investigation and the prosecution of those responsible. A Forensic Scientist 3 is responsible for conducting analyses on submitted evidence using approved instrumentation and methods, interpretation of toxicology results, and providing testimony of their findings in court. The current monthly salary for a Forensic Scientist 3 (in-training) is $6,539 - $ 8,801. Additionally, they will receive an additional 5% geography pay for King County. This position has been designated as “in-training,” meaning the WSP may fill it at the Forensic Scientist 3, Forensic Scientist 2, or Forensic Scientist 1 level. The salary will vary based on the level of the position and the qualifications of the selected candidate.
