In recent weeks, some Congressional leaders have called into question the value of public media and whether it should receive federal funding. In a guest column in the Richmond Times-Dispatch on April 1, 2025, Jayme Swain, VPM’s President & CEO, shares why public media is crucial for all Americans across the country. Jayme clarifies how the federal funding works and sheds light on how VPM is using that funding for Virginians: public safety; children’s educational programming; civic engagement; and local stories about our history, arts and culture in Virginia. https://lnkd.in/esRUXZew
