On National Working Moms Day, and every day, Vivvi is proud to support mothers in the workforce—many of whom might not be able to work if not for child care benefits. We love this touching story from our Chief Commercial Officer Julie Egan about what inspires her to be a working mom, and why caregiving benefits matter. #nationalworkingmomsday
Growing up, I never fully appreciated the significance of this photo of my mom on the cover of New Jersey Bell’s annual report. It sat proudly on a shelf in my grandparents’ house, a snapshot of a moment I didn’t yet understand. But today, on National Working Moms Day, it symbolizes so much more. In 1963, my mom was part of a workforce that kept people connected (long before today’s technology). Like many women of her generation, she worked before motherhood. But also like many women of her generation, leaving the workforce wasn’t a choice. The lack of reliable, quality, and affordable child care—combined with limited cultural acceptance for women in the workplace—made the decision for them. This year, my mom would have turned 84, and while so much has changed in the six decades since then, there are still far too many moms who have to leave the workforce because of a lack of child care. On National Working Moms Day, I’m thinking about the many women who never had the chance to be “working moms” because they didn’t have the support to do both. At Vivvi, we celebrate National Working Moms Day by honoring the resilience of working moms—past and present—and we’re proud to partner with employers to support their working parents (but especially moms) with child care benefits that empower them to remain and thrive in the workforce.

And Fortune 500 businesses with a higher representation of women in leadership show a 34% higher return to shareholders. 💪 Parent-friendly policies boost productivity—both for logistical reasons (fewer absences, for instance) and because they increase workers’ focus and motivation. 💪 Caregiving benefits keep women in the workplace. 83% of women with children ages 0-5 said that child care support would be an important factor in whether they’d stay or switch employers.
