98% of healthcare leaders believe their initiatives prioritize clinician well-being. In VITAL WorkLife's survey, it reveals a gap in the perception. What is this gap? Find out more --> https://lnkd.in/gURGwpPx In my personal experience as a nurse working in the healthcare space for the last 14 years, this has been one of the areas where if well-being initiatives are done well, I felt seen and heard (mostly because I had a few really amazing leaders). If not, then it truly did, and does impact the culture of an organization, teams, and the individual. Recently, I had the privilege in attending #JohnsHopkinsWellbeingCollaborative where the founder of Great Place to Work strongly reinforced that leadership plays a critical role in shaping workplace culture and employee experience. When employees feel a sense of belonging, well-being, and opportunity, it builds a culture of trust. High trust leadership starts with listening. Take a read. I hope this encourages all leaders (whether you have a title or not) to ask the question: Am I leading based on my perceptions? Let's find time to listen to understand. The data is truly interesting and telling. Learn more about what clinicians are saying and ways to ensure tailored mental health and well-being resources can bridge the gap. https://lnkd.in/gURGwpPx #HealthcareStrategy #ClinicianWellBeing #NurseWellBeing #Trust #Leadership #CreateAPositiveWorkplace

I'm excited to share my recent interview with VITAL WorkLife on breaking down barriers to clinician mental health support: https://lnkd.in/gRzmpnPb Eight years ago, I experienced burnout without even recognizing what it was. Today, as a physician and peer coach, I help other clinicians navigate similar challenges. In this Q&A, I discuss: -Practical approaches organizations can take to support clinician well-being -How stigma and shame prevent clinicians from seeking help -The importance of peer coaching for physicians -Why creating multiple pathways to support is critical My journey from burnout to advocacy has taught how valuable it is when healthcare leaders create an environment where seeking help for mental well-being is as encouraged as seeking a mentor or professional development coaching. By offering multiple pathways to connect with support and matching the right support to individual needs, organizations can help clinicians overcome barriers and engage in the well-being focus they deserve.
