Taking time to reflect can be a powerful step. ✨ During a recent self-reflection workshop, our residents were encouraged to pause, look inward, and explore their thoughts and emotions in a safe, supportive environment. It’s one of the many ways we help young people better understand themselves, process their experiences, and strengthen their mental health.

Sherita Hopkins, Parent Ambassador, is making a powerful impact through her dedication and compassion in supporting families on their journey toward reunification. Recently, Sherita went above and beyond to support a birth parent in our Foster Care Program working to regain custody of her two children. After facing housing instability and missing a critical housing voucher deadline, Sherita advocated on the parent’s behalf, securing an extension. She then helped complete the paperwork and connected the parent with financial literacy classes, providing ongoing mentorship and encouragement. Thank you, Sherita, for your fearless heart, unwavering support, and tireless advocacy. You are truly changing lives!

The Vista Boutique is more than a place to find clothes. It’s where our youth can express themselves, feel comfortable in their own skin, and step into their own self-worth. Marked by a “down” mood for an extended period, depression involves a loss of hope and interest in people, activities, and other things a person used to enjoy. Our young DIY-ers have been hard at work, crafting their own self-care goodies. From silky-smooth body scrubs to handmade soaps and hair oils, they’re blending creativity, confidence, and just the right amount of mad scientist energy to make something truly special. 🫧

We are grateful for dedicated team members like Niya Penick, Youth Coach, who is making a powerful impact with her compassion and resilience. She has a natural ability to build strong connections with the youth in our care, creating a safe and supportive environment. During a recent client transport crisis, Niya showed incredible resilience. Despite the initial shock, she remained calm, helping to problem-solve and bring positivity to a difficult situation.
