Visa completed our sixth Kiva campaign last week! Through our partnership with Kiva, employees are able to invest in small businesses and entrepreneurs to foster economic growth and provide access to the digital economy. Visa’s Vice Chair Kelly Mahon Tullier shares how our Kiva partnership is a continued demonstration of our purpose. A huge thanks to Visa employees who participated and supported this year's campaign.

One of my favorite moments of the year is when Visa employees come together in support of our Kiva campaign. For six years, Kiva’s micro-loan platform has provided every Visa employee the opportunity to expand financial access to help communities around the world. This year, over 24,500 employees directed $1.2M in loans to over 10,700 borrowers in 50 countries as part of our Kiva campaign, supporting small businesses from community grocers to potato farmers to basket weavers. This year, I proudly supported Tarmitas Group footwear in Mexico and Zibouladi Group flour/cakes in Burkina Faso. Investing in small businesses across the globe through programs like Kiva creates a path to global prosperity for entrepreneurs and underscores Visa’s purpose of uplifting everyone, everywhere by being the best way to pay and be paid. Thank you, Visa employees!

Managing payment risks is a key priority for Visa, and we are proud to take a leading role in shaping conversations and best practices in response to growing fraud, scams, and other security threats facing the financial sector in the Philippines. In our annual Risk Forum, we gathered over 110 key decisions makers from our issuing, acquiring, merchant, and government partners to discuss risk and security threats in the country and across the region. The engaging sessions further highlighted the increasing sophistication of fraud actors, and the role of AI as both a threat and enabler to risk solutions. Protecting the safety and integrity of the payments ecosystem is a shared responsibility, and Visa remains committed to working with industry and government partners to stay ahead of emerging threats. #VisaPhilippines #RiskForum #PaymentsSecurity #FraudPrevention

We know that ski travel to Japan is bigger than ever, but did you know the unseen role contactless payments are playing in this surge? According to Visa data and analytics, contactless transactions at Japan's ski destinations have doubled in just two years in the ski season, reaching around 80% of all traveller transactions in the ski season this year. This is driven by a growing need for fuss-free travel, as skiers go contactless for the bulk of their "core" travel activities - from lodging (~80% contactless) to dining (~90%) to retail (~90%). More are even leaving their cards at home, knowing that they can pay easily and securely at a tap of their phones overseas, with mobile-based contactless transactions at Japan's ski destinations doubling from two years ago. It is not only large retailers that benefit from contactless payments. Visa data showed that small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) saw a 30% year-on-year increase in traveller receipts, of which more than half were made via contactless payments. A mindset shift is underway in Asia Pacific. Travellers want to worry less about how to pay on their travels, with contactless payments key to simpler, safer, and seamless experiences.
