Partnerships like these are essential for disrupting global criminal enterprises and helping prevent crytposcams targeting Americans. “Our analysts from the Washington Field Office provided Canadian officials with the help needed to disrupt this scheme and prevent bad actors from continuing to receive stolen funds,” Washington Field Office Special Agent in Charge Matt McCool said. “We will continue working with Canadian law enforcement and financial partners to identify and seize stolen assets to return to victims.”

On the move in the ATL! On Saturday April 12, 2025, personnel from the Atlanta Field Office (AFO) of the United States Secret Service (USSS) participated in the Spring Festival hosted by the Douglasville Police Department, in Douglasville, Georgia. Citizens enjoyed vendors, demonstrations by various first-responder agencies, an egg hunt, bounce houses, and more. USSS Special Agents and Administrative, Professional, and Technical personnel displayed some of the tools of the trade including vehicles and equipment they use, as well as an Operation Safe Kids station. AFO personnel shared information with those interested in a career with the Secret Service, the requirements to join as a Special Agent, with potential assignments in protective operations, counterfeiting and cyber-enabled financial crimes, and more. They also shared the requirements for those desiring to become officers of the Uniformed Division who provide physical security for the White House Complex and the vice president’s residence at the Naval Observatory. After the U.S. Secret Service - New York Field Office at 7 World Trade Center was destroyed on 9/11, a vacant office in downtown Brooklyn was selected as the new base of operations. Twenty-three years later, that space has been given a thorough modernization to better serve the needs of the mission. With a state-of-the-art command center, virtual training simulator, high-tech forensic lab and the largest Faraday room in the entire U.S. Secret Service, these upgrades are a boon to not only our workforce — but the entire law enforcement community.
