Updates

  • Great insights from Force Master Chief Tracy L. Hunt on the critical role Navy Reserve Sailors play at the Operational Level of War (OLW). Reserve Sailors at Maritime Operations Centers (MOCs) directly shape naval strategy into action, working alongside active-duty counterparts to enhance our nation's warfighting readiness. The evolving global landscape underscores the need for agile, knowledgeable Reservists prepared for new challenges beyond past missions. Importantly, both enlisted and officer Reservists bring essential operational expertise, driving better decision-making and readiness.

  • Last week, Chief of Navy Reserve VADM Nancy Lacore and Force Master Chief Tracy L. Hunt visited Reserve Sailors at the U.S. 6th Fleet’s maritime operations center in Naples, Italy, the nerve center for naval superiority across Europe and Africa. Our Reserve Sailors provide the Navy with a critical edge. They are skilled in command and control, intelligence, and sustainment. They are trained to integrate seamlessly and amplify the Total Force. Amid global challenges from the Middle East to Ukraine, Reserve Sailors deliver the Day One difference, projecting power and keeping seas open and secure. That’s our strategic advantage at the Operational Level of War. ⚓️🌍

  • Today marks the birthday of the U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer—a rank established in 1893 out of a need for authentic leadership, expert knowledge, and unparalleled commitment. Chief Petty Officers aren't just defined by the anchors they wear; they're distinguished by an unwavering attitude, leadership, and a relentless drive to accomplish the mission. They're the Navy's backbone, connecting sailors on the deck plates to strategic leadership, guiding personnel through challenges, and ensuring mission readiness. Without Chiefs, ships don't sail, operations stall, and readiness declines. Simply put, Chiefs get things done. On this Chief Petty Officer Birthday, we honor and celebrate the dedicated leaders who keep the Navy strong, resilient, and mission-focused. Happy Birthday, Chiefs!

  • NRC Washington DC Leadership Symposium— This weekend, Vice Adm. Nancy Lacore and Force Master Chief Tracy L. Hunt delivered a powerful message to Navy Reserve leaders: our warfighting readiness is non-negotiable. With 2027 on the horizon, we must act with urgency to prepare for high-end combat. Navy Reserve Centers (NRCs) are more than drill sites—they are the Foundation that support Warfighters. Reserve Sailors play a vital role in achieving the Navy Reserve Strategic Advantage and ensuring the Navy Reserve is Ready on Day One. -NRCs are more than drill sites—they are warfighting platforms. -Reservists bring critical skills that amplify the Navy’s lethality. -Collaboration at all levels is key to achieving the Navy Reserve Strategic Advantage.
