About us

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Florida distinguishes itself through its commitment to the success of students, faculty, and staff. We foster a diverse environment centered on critical thinking and creative discovery for the benefit of the individual and the advancement of society. Building on a commitment to academic freedom, humility, humanity, and integrity, our high quality educational programs, research, and creative activities lead to national and international recognition. The College of Arts & Sciences is the largest of the five colleges that make up the University of North Florida. Because it provides instruction in the liberal arts, the intellectual basis upon which rest the applied curricula of the four other professionally-oriented colleges, it constitutes the core of the university.

Over the last three days, I had the incredible opportunity to join in the amazing experiences our students had on the UNF - College of Arts and Sciences Public Policy trip to Washington, D.C. From exploring the National Archives, engaging in diplomacy at the Chinese Embassy and visiting the White House and State Department, our students experienced policymaking at the highest level. Even more impressively, they presented their research to leaders from both the U.S. and China—an experience that will shape their futures in profound ways! To say it has been an inspiring trip does not do it justice. I've always known UNF provides our undergraduate students the best opportunties, but to see it in action will be something I will share for years to come. These transformative opportunities are only possible because of the unwavering support of our faculty, staff and the incredible friends of UNF. 💙 Today is Giving Day at University of North Florida! 💙 Your generosity allows us to continue creating these life-changing experiences for our students. I invite you to join me in giving so we can create more meaningful experiences like this for many more students to come. Photos: Students presenting their paper to the National Security Council, National Archives visit to see the Constitution and see documents like the original, handwritten inaugural address by George Washington and a beautiful view of the Washington Monument from the grounds of the White House.
