Updates

  • 🔴 #Sudan: Ongoing violence in North Darfur has displaced over 400,000 people — the majority from Zamzam camp. Access to the camp is blocked. Civilians, including humanitarians, are being prevented from leaving. Shelling continues in and around Al Fasher. Despite the insecurity, humanitarians are providing critical food, water and health care.

  • This week in The Humanitarian Beat: Get the latest from the frontlines of the world’s most urgent crises. From rising needs in conflict zones to the stories behind the response, this edition brings you critical updates, real-time impact, and what’s at stake if the world looks away. Tap in to stay informed. ⬇️

  • As atrocities and the aid blockade continue unabated in #Gaza, hundreds of thousands of people are being repeatedly displaced. Shelters are overcrowded. Tents have run out. People are left with nothing. Humanitarians are running critically low on supplies, with relief efforts crippled by access restrictions and the relentless expansion of military operations. "A message to the whole world," pleads one Palestinian woman: "Open the crossings for us."

  • ⚠️ "Right now, we're having a humanitarian funding crisis." ⚠️ Years of conflict in #DRCongo have repeatedly forced countless people to flee their homes. The current escalation in fighting is only making things worse. Just when people need life-saving assistance the most, critical humanitarian programmes are shutting down due to funding cuts. As of April, only 8% of this year's required funding has been received. "Funding cuts are going to have a real human impact," warns our colleague on the ground, Pierre Peron. 🎥👇

  • Two years into #Sudan’s brutal war, millions are still on the run — hungry, thirsty, scared, and without shelter. With millions of lives in the balance, local and international humanitarian partners are under attack and facing massive funding shortfalls. This is one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Yet, it's being forgotten. Watch. Share. Act. We urgently need your support. ⬇️ #KeepEyesOnSudan

  • The trauma of two years of brutal war runs deep for the women of #Sudan. Many have lost children, had their families torn apart and had to endure unimaginable violence.   They all want the war to end so they can return to their lives.   These are the stories of women living through one of the world’s most devastating conflicts.   "We cannot lie down and die," one displaced woman says. "We must keep strong and create a new future for ourselves, especially our children."   ❗ Their voices must be heard.   #KeepEyesOnSudan #Women4Sudan

  • "I had to escape with my family because our lives were in danger." When the war broke out in #Sudan two years ago, our colleague, Fatima, became one of the millions caught in the crossfire. She and her family are among the more than 12 million people displaced by this brutal war. For two long years, Sudan has been engulfed in relentless fighting. International law continues to be violated with impunity, with civilians and civilian infrastructure under attack, sexual violence rampant and humanitarian assistance constantly obstructed. "I have lost friends in this war. Some disappeared. Others turned up dead. This is because, time and again, those with guns have shown no regard for civilians' lives. No respect for the rules of war," Fatima says. Words alone won’t stop the suffering. The international community must take concrete action and unite behind an urgent cessation of hostilities, unimpeded humanitarian access and the protection of civilians. This war must end. #KeepEyesOnSudan

  • People of #Gaza are exhausted by relentless displacement, endless atrocities and a daily fight for survival. Over 400,000 people have been displaced since mid-March alone. Hospitals are being attacked. Medicines are running low. With no supplies entering since 2 March, hunger, malnutrition and disease will only surge. Atrocities must never be tolerated.
