  • We are excited to share that our very own Ammad Hassan won 1st place on the Base Track at ETHSF! Ammad built BaseTip - a social tipping platform allowing users to transparently tip their favorite Twitch streamers using Base, combining the transparency of the blockchain network, along with efficient transactions, users can connect wallets, gain rewards, and send ETH tips with real-time overlays + NFT rewards. This allows streamers to not only track donations, but easily host giveaways, rewards and have permanent history of their transactions on-chain! Check out BaseTip below! https://lnkd.in/evdmKPek

This past Thursday, I had the honor of moderating a fireside with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce at the University of Michigan. About two weeks ago, Commissioner Peirce reached out to Michigan Blockchain about hosting a session during her trip to Ann Arbor. (Yes we all thought it was a scam.) Somehow, the Commissioner had discovered Michigan Blockchain and wanted to hear directly from us. We blasted marketing and packed an auditorium with 120+ students and crypto professionals at 8PM on a Thursday. Conversing with the Commissioner was very enjoyable and super easy - she’s a natural. Her grasp of the industry was incredibly impressive, especially considering that an SEC Commissioner has far more on their plate than just crypto regulation (which is a huge task in itself). It’s clear the new administration is moving fast to provide a clear and positive regulatory framework. Commissioner Hester Peirce echoed it herself: now is the time to innovate and ensure the U.S. leads the crypto industry. A special thank you to Commissioner Peirce for joining us and for spending so much time chatting with students. After the session wrapped, the Commissioner stayed and spoke one-on-one with attendees for over an hour. Huge thanks to Stand With Crypto for sponsoring the reception, Elizabeth Hansson for mobilizing the Detroit community, Shashank Kalluri for ensuring everything ran smoothly, and the Michigan Blockchain community for showing out. Thursday was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. I left energized and it truly was the perfect ending to my college experience. Michigan Blockchain is in great hands with Lucas Hodgson, Ryan Kaelle, and many more. Go Blue 〽️

Dear University of Michigan Community, We at Michigan Blockchain are honored to host SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce for an in-person speaker event this Thursday at 8 PM ET in Robertson Auditorium at the Ross School of Business. It's not every day that we, as students, have the opportunity to hear from someone actively shaping both crypto and broader financial policy. This is an incredible chance to learn from Commissioner Peirce, ask your questions, and even meet her in person. The event is sponsored by Stand With Crypto and will include a fireside chat, audience Q&A, and networking reception. Please sign up for the event here: https://lu.ma/s9zeb5yn

My partner, Ashrith B. and I won the KiteAI track prize at the Eigen Games in Denver, CO! Thank you to Eigen Labs for organizing such a great event and providing us with an amazing opportunity to dive deeper into the growing Web3 ecosystem. 🔥 What we built: At the event, we built EigenBird, a gaming platform allowing users to play verifiable, on-chain games and compete for rewards. Every 24 hours, the top scorers earn Kite Coin, bringing a decentralized gaming experience to Web3. 💡 What we learned: Eigen Layer played a huge role giving us the chance to connect with cutting edge Web3 developers providing valuable insight on how to develop our app in the Web3 ecosystem. Support, office hours, and late-night grind made this experience even more rewarding. 🏎️ Beyond the Hackathon Meeting all the other incredible clubs and teams was the best part, making life long connections while go-karting, and attending ETHDenver side events. The Web3 community is truly amazing. 🙌 Thank you Michigan Blockchain for allowing us to represent Michigan at ETHDenver and the Eigen Games, along with Evan Solomon our Blockchain President. Sponsors: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Uniswap Labs, Othentic Labs, Opacity Labs Inc., Autonome, and many more for making this event possible Github Link: https://lnkd.in/gnyV-cUu
