As part of our ongoing commitment to providing students with access to school-based health care in collaboration with Hazel Health, we’re honored to expand these services to Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Expanding Access to Student Health Services! I'm proud to share that Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has officially launched telehealth services for all K-12 students through an innovative partnership with Hazel Health. Starting this month, every student in every school now has access to medical and mental health services — Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., year-round. Thanks to the generous support of UnitedHealthcare, this initiative is helping break down healthcare barriers that often stand in the way of student success. Whether a student needs care for a common illness, asthma, or mental health support, they can now receive immediate, high-quality care without leaving school — ensuring their learning time is protected and their health needs are met. Last week, I had the privilege of joining our School Board members, District leaders, and Hazel Health representatives at South Miami Heights Elementary School to announce this transformative service for our students and families. Seeing the enthusiasm and commitment from everyone involved reaffirmed how important it is to prioritize student well-being. A heartfelt thank you to Hazel Health and UnitedHealthcare for partnering with us to make this possible. At M-DCPS, we believe that healthy students are better learners, and this partnership is helping ensure that every student has the support they need to thrive academically, emotionally, and physically.
