This week, UGI Utilities President Hans Bell attended the Northeast Gas Association Spring Operations Conference. Hans, who serves as Chairman of NGA’s Board of Directors, delivered a “Fireside Chat” keynote address, which covered a variety of topics that affect our natural gas customers. This operations-related conference addressed workplace safety, new technology applications and included sessions on damage prevention, emissions reductions, emerging technology, and provided opportunities to network with industry partners. Happy Read Across America Week! 📚 This week, we're celebrating the magic of reading and the worlds that open up when we turn a page. UGI Utilities has a long-standing partnership with Reading Is Fundamental, and a commitment to early literacy throughout our communities. The RIF program provides more than 50,000 books to more than 18,000 first-grade students each year. This week our teams have been visiting local schools to deliver literacy kits, provide books to students, and read aloud to the kids – and The Reading Wizard came along to a few visits! Last week, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, UGI Utilities was named the recipient of the 2025 Ruby Payne Cook Award for Community Service by the Crispus Attucks Community Center at the organization’s 37th-annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast. UGI Utilities has supported Crispus Attucks Community Center through an annual school supply collection at the Lancaster office (spearheaded by employee Kizzy J.), as well as volunteer efforts at their food pantry and an EITC contribution. Crispus Attucks Community Center is a program of Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County that supports youth and families in Lancaster by providing community services and cultural programs that preserve the African American heritage. Ruby Payne Cook served for nearly 30 years as the first Executive Director of Crispus Attucks Community Center. This award was established in memory of her commitment and dedication to the center and the African America community.
