We were given some WXGU inserts from Tungaloy-NTK America, Inc. to use a while back for some interrupted cutting on an ID bore and they ran excellent! We were skeptical as its IC diameter is .250" compared to let's say a (WNMG 332) with an IC of .375" . We decided to keep testing on some OD cuts and ran great as well, so we decided to do some balanced roughing to push them a little more. 1-1/4"" stock material diameter cut down to just above 5/8" run on a Eurotech Elite B465 SY2. Could it be run faster.......YES, but this is only the start. Tool life was double compared to cutting with a single insert and worked in our favor to help balance turret cutting time in the machine. The chips coming off the part are so awesome to watch 😁 and that's with us being conservative and using external coolant. With this being a 6 sided Trigon insert you definitely get your moneys worth. The High Pressure coolant isn't offered on 3/4" shank holders just yet but if when we find a way to add a coolant nozzle ourselves we will push it another 75-100 SFM!! Material - 304SS Insert - WXGU222L TS AH8015 SFM - 225 Feed - .008" IPR D.O.C. - .055" per side/each insert
