Today marks the start of National Surveyors Week! Ever wonder how we map and protect the environment? Our surveyors play a crucial role in understanding and preserving natural landscapes! Our surveyors collect and analyze data to help make informed environmental decisions. Some key tasks include: 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 & 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: Identifying protected areas and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Conducting topographic and boundary surveys to guide sustainable development. 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: Implementing GPS, drones, and LiDAR to capture accurate environmental data. Surveyors help prevent habitat destruction, support conservation efforts, and ensure projects are developed responsibly. Their expertise guides land use decisions that balance progress with preservation. Meet Jim, the Chief Executive Officer of True Environmental Jim joined True Environmental as Chief Executive Officer in September 2022, bringing over 20 years of industry expertise and a passion for building collaborative, innovative teams. Under his leadership, True Environmental has seen remarkable cross-platform collaboration. Reflecting on his experience, Jim shares, “Time and again, I’ve witnessed our teams come together—sharing expertise, resources, and a unified vision to drive success. It’s inspiring to see how every firm within our network embraces new acquisitions with open arms, fostering a culture of partnership and innovation. This spirit of teamwork is what sets us apart and fuels our continued growth.” In addition to his impressive professional accomplishments, Jim boasts a distinguished athletic background. He enjoyed a successful career as a professional soccer player, competing in the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League, and American Soccer League. Before turning pro, he excelled at Penn State—earning first-team All-American honors, winning the prestigious Hermann Trophy (awarded annually to the most outstanding player in American college soccer), and representing the 1980 U.S. Olympic Soccer Team during qualifying matches (though he did not participate in the 1980 Olympics due to the U.S. boycott). Jim has also contributed to the sport by coaching youth soccer, applying the lessons learned on the field to cultivate high-performing teams in the business arena. With a unique blend of leadership, experience, and a team-first mentality, Jim continues to drive True Environnmental's mission to deliver exceptional environmental and engineering solutions.
