This year's annual fundraiser celebrated the power of investing in women to transform communities. 🌍✨ We gathered to reaffirm what decades of research and experience have shown: the Graduation Approach works. It’s been rigorously tested, implemented globally, and delivers long-term, sustainable impact for people living in extreme poverty. A special highlight of the evening was presenting the Glen & Mildred Robbins Leet Humanitarian Award to Frank DeGiovanni, who has served on our board since 2017 and has championed the Graduation Approach for over two decades. 🏆 His unwavering commitment and thought leadership continue to shape Trickle Up’s work, and we are deeply grateful for his guidance. We’re proud to share that, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we exceeded our donation goal! 🎉 Your support fuels our mission to end poverty and to build a better future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. #PartneringWithWomen #TrickleUp #PovertyReduction #GraduationApproach #SocialImpact #EndPoverty

We are thrilled to be supporting the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan) on Chhattisgarh-Samaaveshi Aajeevika Yojana (CG-SAY), a Graduation-inspired #livelihoods programme for the most vulnerable citizens of the state in two districts. This effort is also supported by Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY - NRLM). Additionally, Trickle Up will serve as the implementation partner for CG-SAY, and Professional Assistance For Development Action (PRADAN) will serve as the research and technical support partner on this effort. CSRLM spans 146 blocks across all 33 districts in #Chhattisgarh. The mission has integrated economically disadvantaged families into a network of 259,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) involving 2.93 million households. The mission envisions a further acceleration of its initiatives to include rural households living in poverty, particularly women into this path. Ms. Smriti Sharan, Joint Secretary for Rural Livelihoods, Ministry of Rural Development, said, “The Government of India remains firmly committed to inclusive development under the vision of ‘leave no one behind.’” She added, “The Graduation approach has proven its success globally, and CG-SAY promises to build on a strong, evidence-based model. The role of dedicated coaches, consumption grants, asset transfers, and strong partnerships will be crucial in its success.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ei3FRK8D

Graduation programs work. For every INR 1 invested, INR 6.7 is returned in social value—improving health, education, and nutrition for women in poverty. 📱 Smartphones provided through our MPowered project became lifelines, helping women access healthcare programs and book medical appointments. 👩🎓 More girls stayed in school as household income rose and their families were able to pay school fees and buy uniforms. 🌾 Our mobile PoP app taught participants how to diversify their crops and improve yields, resulting in more nutritious diets and stronger food security. As the landscape of international development funding rapidly changes, Lauren Hendricks writes that it's more important than ever to invest in women-led economic inclusion.

Meet Anatoli and Paul, two of our program participants from the Democratic Republic of Congo now thriving in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, #Uganda! Since joining our program, implemented by AVSI Foundation, they've turned their lives around—earning more, diversifying their income, and investing in their children’s education. 📚💪 Anatoli shares: “Educating our children has always been our primary goal. I am very happy that together with my husband, we no longer worry a lot because we have gained skills and established our own enterprises to support our income generation plans and timely payment of their school fees.” Their journey is a powerful example of how #GraduationApproach can be an opportunity to transform lives. #EndPoverty #PovertyReduction #GraduationApproach #SustainableDevelopment #Resilience #Empowerment #PartneringWithWomen #InvestInWomen

A happy update: Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission and BRAC International have launched CG - SAY (Samaaveshi Aajeevika Yojana), with the support of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY - NRLM). This program will work with the most vulnerable populations of the state. When BRAC signed its MoU with NRLM in February 2024, we had committed to start work in five states, and with this partnership, we have fulfilled our promise. Many thanks to Chhattisgarh RD Secretary Mr. Bhim Singh, State Mission Director Bihan Ms Jayshree Jain, and the entire Bihan team. Special gratitude to Joint Secretary MoRD Smriti Sharan for her leadership and support without which we wouldn't have gotten here. Also shout out to former Additional Secretary MoRD Charanjit Singh for his infectious commitment towards Chhattisgarh. Best wishes to our partners Trickle Up, and Professional Assistance For Development Action (PRADAN). Onward towards implementation! After giving birth, Maya experienced a mobility impairment that made it difficult for her to travel for work. But her spirit remained unshaken. 💪🏽 With support from our program in partnership with Sightsavers, Maya is now building her tailoring business from home 🏡. Through market linkages and connections to new business opportunities, our program helps participants like Maya turn challenges into chances to thrive. Maya is not only sustaining her business—she’s dreaming bigger ✨. She hopes to build a second story on her house so she can continue working from home, expand her workspace, and take on even more orders 🧵🧺. #PartneringWithWomen #WomenEntrepreneurs #DisabilityInclusion #SocialImpact #TrickleUp #Entrepreneurship #inspiring

Skoll Reflections, Part 2: What Role Will International NGOs Play? One theme echoed across the Skoll World Forum: Locally-led development is no longer a buzzword—it’s a mandate. With major funders like USAID scaling back, many local leaders see a real opportunity to decolonize aid and shift power to the communities most impacted by poverty and inequality. So what does that mean for international NGOs like Trickle Up? It means we must: ✅ Ask what role local organizations want us to play ✅ Prioritize contextualized solutions, not one-size-fits-all models ✅ Relinquish control and share ownership of outcomes ✅ Use our platforms and partnerships to amplify local leadership, not override it It’s not easy work—but it’s the work that matters. At Trickle Up, we’re asking tough questions about how we adapt, support, and show up in this new reality. Because we’re not here to lead—we’re here to partner. https://lnkd.in/eHtmBbSa #Skoll2025 #LocallyLed #PowerShift #DecolonizeAid #Development #TrickleUp #SocialInnovation #INGO #GlobalSouth
