Hi everyone, please do my friend a favor by responding to this survey if you’re with an organization that receives a lot of federal funds and have been impacted by recent executive orders. It’s a short survey and everything is anonymous.

Today at Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance, we had the honor of hosting California State Senator Jerry McNerney and Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan for a vital conversation with seven of the Tri-Valley's safety net service providers. These incredible nonprofit leaders shared what’s really happening in our community — the increasing needs, the impact of federal funding cuts, the programs hanging in the balance, and the emotional toll of leading in such uncertain times. They spoke candidly about what keeps them up at night and offered thoughtful, practical suggestions for how our elected officials can help — with one message coming through loud and clear: Nonprofits need champions at every level of government. Advocacy, awareness, and sustainable investment in the nonprofit sector are not just important — they’re essential. We're grateful to Senator McNerney and Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan for listening and for recognizing that nonprofits are not just helping people — they are holding communities together. More conversations like this are needed — and they’re happening, one meeting room at a time. Let’s keep speaking up. Let’s keep showing up. And let's keep advocating for our nonprofits.

  • Important Resources for Nonprofits Navigating Federal Policy Changes Our colleagues at the National Council of Nonprofits, led by Diane Yentel, have just released updated tools and guidance to help nonprofits understand and respond to recent executive actions and changes in federal policy. These resources are timely and essential for nonprofit leaders, especially those managing federal grants or contracts. At TVNPA, we’re committed to keeping our local nonprofit community informed and resilient in the face of changing policy landscapes. We encourage all nonprofit leaders to take a moment to review these materials and share them widely. #Nonprofits #PolicyUpdates #TVNPA #NonprofitLeadership #FederalFunding #DianeYentel #NonprofitRiskManagement #TriValleyNonprofits

🚨URGENT: ICE is inhumanely targeting homeless shelters. This is a guidance for homeless service providers on what to do BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER a raid by ICE. Providers should be prepared to protect their clients and ensure their basic dignity and rights are respected. Reports and recordings of ICE raids at homeless shelters and service centers should be sent to info@homelesslaw.org. The full guidance includes info on designating nonpublic spaces, different kinds of warrants, Know Your Rights materials, and more. Raids and arrests won’t solve homelessness. Only housing will.
