Is your system block diagram missing a crucial element for power integrity? Have you included a PI (power integrity) flow chart in your system block diagram? Let me use the following example of a block diagram review we conducted for a leading SoC-based product. We often assist circuit designers by starting with a block diagram review of the PI. The flow of the PI for this system is as follows: (FYI, Harmony is our passive power integrity filter, and Symphony is our ultra-low-noise DC-DC specifically designed for FD-SOI devices that operate below 1V.) 1. Cleaning the noise with the 5V USB (noise-free). 2. Providing clean 1.8V, 0.5V, 0.65V, and 0.8V for various sensitive analog and digital blocks. We eliminated high-Q resonance peaks on all these power rails by replacing the ferrite bead filter networks with our Harmony PI Filter. 3. Ensuring the 0.65V LDO output is a genuinely low-noise power rail. Initially, a ferrite bead filter network was placed at the LDO’s output, but it made things worse rather than better. Now, with the Harmony placed at the LDO’s output, no more noise coupling between the LO, Rx RF, and the on-chip LNA, with no ground bouncing and no high-Q resonance peaks. This last one is essential because the LDO would become a non-linear mixer when its output is injected with high-frequency spurious and noise. If you have any questions or need assistance adding a power integrity flow chart to your system block diagrams, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help you achieve optimal design performance. #powerintegrity #PI #signalintegrity #SI #ferritebead #noise #highspeed #memory #DDR #SoC #GNSS #FDSOI #USB #DCDC #LDO

About us
TransSiP is a semiconductor company that has developed a patented noise-reduction technology called TransSiP PI. This technology enables electronic devices to be more power efficient, have better accuracy, and have more precise signals, thereby enhancing user experience. The company has achieved great success with over 2 million chips sold from just a small subsegment of the overall market. TransSiP has also been recognized as one of the Top 12 global startups out of 4500+ by Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH). In addition, the company's accomplishments have been duly recognized by world-renowned industry leaders and professionals - u-blox, Tektronix, Sir Peter Maire, and Brent Robinson at Rakon.

This is an opportunity to explore and test our Harmony Power Integrity (PI) Filter to achieve a Noise-Free PDN for DDR designs. I plan to attend. Will anyone in the DDR field join me? I want to discuss Noise-Free PDN further, even before the event.
Open The Black Box of Memory is back! As usual with the update for the latest generations of DDR memory interfaces. Learn how to design, simulate, measure, verify and debug your memory interface design!

Did you know that power supply noise limits your product’s performance? Imagine if a passive power filter from TransSiP could enable DC power to be delivered at your system’s noise floor, even with a noisy switching mode DC-DC converter in your setup. Plus, it can save 80% of your BOM and 90% of your PCB board space.
