Often operating behind the scenes, the DPW's Fleet Management Division is the backbone of our vehicle operations. From plow trucks to lawn mowers, this dedicated team of four ensures every piece of equipment is ready when needed. Though small in number, their impact on our community is undeniably significant. Fun Fact: The Fleet Management Division maintains over 150 pieces of equipment!

Shrewsbury Promotes from Within New Water and Sewer Superintendent This past month, Timothy J. Maroney was promoted from his role as the Assistant Water and Sewer Superintendent - Water Treatment and Pumping Systems to the Water and Sewer Superintendent after multiple rounds of interviews with a very talented and competitive group of applicants. Mr. Maroney is no stranger to water and wastewater operations, spending over 11 years in the field and having played a key role in Shrewsbury since 2023 overseeing the operation of our water treatment facility, ensuring compliance with MassDEP regulations, and optimizing system performance. His leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to service excellence have made a meaningful impact on our community and he continues to maintain a commitment to innovation and high-quality water services which will benefit Shrewsbury for years to come. “Mr. Maroney is a great asset and will complete a number of ongoing projects while creating a culture that reflects the mission of the community. Water infrastructure is critical to our growth and Tim will work with his team to ensure systems are efficient and compliant with all state and federal regulations,” said Department of Public Works Director Timothy McInerney. "I am honored to take on the role of Water & Sewer Superintendent for the Town of Shrewsbury. I look forward to building on the department’s strong foundation and working to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient services for the community.
