Violence in our communities leaves a lasting impact—not just on victims, but on families, neighborhoods, and entire support systems. In this episode of TLC Connections, Dr. Greg Casey, an emergency medicine physician at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, discusses a program developed to help break the cycle of violence. Through the Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (VIPP)—a collaboration between Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic and The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth—victims of violence receive immediate and long-term support. This holistic approach provides crisis intervention, therapy, legal and housing assistance, and follow-up care to prevent retaliation and create pathways to healing. Dr. Casey shares his experiences from the ER, the importance of compassionate care, and how integrating EMS teams into violence intervention efforts can change—and even save—lives. 🎧 Listen to the episode: https://lnkd.in/ew5uu4wJ 🎥 Watch the full interview: https://lnkd.in/e8WJ_rPg #TLCFamilyYouth #ViolenceIntervention #PublicHealth

Eating disorders don’t have one look, one cause, or one easy solution. Alarming statistics: ➡️ Nearly 30 million people in the U.S. will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. ➡️ Fewer than 6% of those affected are medically diagnosed as “underweight.” ➡️ Anorexia has the highest case mortality rate of any mental illness. ➡️ 15% of women will suffer from an eating disorder by their 40s or 50s, but only 27% receive any treatment for it. There is a path to recovery—here’s what you need to know. While these conditions can be life-threatening, hope is real—with the right care, recovery is possible. In this episode of TLC Connections, Kaitlyn Lorenz shares data from Monte Nido’s latest 12,000-client outcomes study revealing that patients who engage in a structured treatment path—including residential care, PHP (partial hospitalization), and IOP (intensive outpatient care)—experience significantly higher recovery rates and improved mental health outcomes.
