At Tillamook Family Counseling Center, providing ethical and high-quality mental health care is a priority. Tim Timmons, TFCC’s Compliance and Privacy Officer, ensures that the center operates within legal and ethical boundaries, protecting both clients and staff. With 27 years of experience, Tim focuses on educating staff about rules and regulations, not policing them. His role is about helping staff understand the best ways to protect client information and use resources properly. By creating a supportive environment, Tim ensures that compliance doesn’t become a burden, but a tool for success.

We are excited to highlight TFCC's Wraparound Program. This article features Jane Sandquist, the Children's Mental Health/Wraparound Care Coordinator. Jane says "Wraparound is not a service—it's a process!” The goal is to ensure these entities are aligned with a  comprehensive planning process, working toward common objectives, and effectively communicating with one another. Tillamook Family Counseling Center (TFCC) and Iron Tribe Network have partnered to establish a critical new resource for individuals and families seeking recovery in Tillamook County. The recently opened recovery housing in Tillamook provides a supportive environment for those working to overcome addiction and help them transition to lives aligned with their core values.

The Prevention Program at Tillamook Family Counseling Center (TFCC) is taking a comprehensive approach to addiction and suicide prevention in Tillamook County, offering a range of services that touch everything from youth education to adult wellness initiatives. Led by Prevention Specialist Sarah Ermer, the program addresses multiple aspects of community wellness. “Very broadly, we focus on addiction and suicide prevention,” explains Sarah. “There is a lot that goes into that. We get into the schools and talk to teens and tweens about prevention, but we’re also talking to adults about high-risk drinking, the harms that come with substance use, and problem gambling prevention.” Sarah delivers evidence-based presentations addressing the harms of substances and broader health, including how choosing to use substances affects your mental health, wellbeing, and nutrition. Turnstone Commons, affiliated with Tillamook Family Counseling Center, offers much-needed income-based housing solutions in Tillamook, OR. The doors opened in May 2024, and has been a great success. At Tillamook Family Counseling Center (TFCC), the counseling groups led by Sarina Coello and Maria Bateman provide essential mental health support for children and teens in the community. Sarina Coello, LCSW, brings an extensive background of group counseling experience, having worked in schools, inpatient behavioral health, and correctional facilities. Maria Bateman, a recent MSW graduate, is passionate about prevention and serving youth and families in rural areas. Together, they currently lead four groups that focus on mindfulness, self-esteem, and social skills, offering young participants a safe space to explore their emotions, build confidence, and develop meaningful connections with peers. #groupcounseling #mentalhealth #community
