  • Construction has officially begun on Trident Technical College’s Berkeley Campus. This project will triple enrollment capacity from 1,000 to 3,000 students and bring 11,500 SF of new classroom space, plus renovations to 74,000 SF of existing facilities. Set to open in Fall 2026, the new center will expand and launch programs in transportation and CDL, diesel technology, advanced manufacturing, and logistics. Enrollment at the campus increased by 83% between 2009–2016, showing a demand for more space and opportunities. Dr. Vicky Wood, Trident Technical College President, outlined the College’s renovation plans to serve students. "The renovation and expansion of our Berkeley Campus reflect our commitment to provide students with the skills and training they need to succeed in high-demand industries. The state-of-the-art labs in this facility will transform the educational experience for our students and drive economic growth and innovation across the region," said Wood. "Together, we are building a brighter future for our community.” Thank you to the College leadership and staff, students, community members, legislators, and our project partners including Liollio Architecture for making this groundbreaking a success! • Thompson Turner Construction was honored to be a sponsor for the recent A4LE South Carolina Chapter Conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to support a gathering of education and design professionals dedicated to creating exceptional learning environments. We also want to give a shoutout to team member Blake Stancil, who joined Beaufort County School District and Quackenbush Architects + Planners to present a session on Insulated Concrete Forms. Always happy to collaborate with our industry partners to share knowledge and discuss innovative practices. #thompsonturner #buildingyoursuccess

  • Orangeburg County School District has cut the ribbon to open the new East Lake Elementary School in Holly Hill! This 110,000 SF facility will eventually serve 700 students from Holly Hill, St. James-Gaillard, and Vance Providence elementary schools. Principal Wendee Evering shared her enthusiasm at the ribbon cutting celebration, calling the school "a new beginning" and an opportunity for students to "accomplish any goal they set for themselves." Superintendent Dr. Shawn Foster noted the consolidation is a cost-effective way to bring modern facilities and programs to the District.
