Prior to teaching at MacLaren, Ms. Cooper was an instructor for undergraduate Microbiology and Genetics laboratories at a liberal arts university. Here at MacLaren she has continued to pursue her love for the sciences by teaching Biology and Chemistry. Ms. Cooper is endlessly fascinated with the workings of the natural world, especially the human body. Our fine arts program allows students to create as well as to appreciate beautiful things. This development of the aesthetic dimension of the whole person has three expressions: art (including art history), music and drama. A study of theory and technique undergirds all performances. Eighth grade students study geography with an emphasis on how land and water formations shape political, economic and cultural life. Mrs. DeCelles has taught in the humanities for many years. At MacLaren she has led courses in Latin, Literature & Composition and Humane Letters. Jordan Edmonds brings patience and kindness to first grade! She knows each student individually and is dedicated making sure they receive the best support possible. Scores of high school students at Thomas MacLaren have spent many hours around a seminar table helmed by Mr. Fuller. With a background in American Studies, Mr. Fuller is well-qualified to lead the team that teaches 9th grade Humane Letters, a course that focuses on the history and literature of the United States. Mr. Fuller also teaches and serves as the curricular lead for 10th grade Humane Letters.
