  • Parkinson’s disease is a neurological disorder that results in uncontrolled and uncoordinated motor movements. It might initially manifest as tremors and shaking but over time, the symptoms worsen and lead to extreme difficulty in balancing oneself and moving regularly; at this point, some may even struggle with walking and talking.    Several therapies are used to combat Parkinson’s disease, some of the most widely used being deep brain stimulation and physiotherapy. In any case, before trying any sort of therapy, it is crucial to consult your doctor; trying out rehab for Parkinson’s is no easy feat, and you must not attempt it without the supervision of a team of health professionals.

  • Over 1.5 million people in the U.S. are living with Parkinson’s disease — each facing unique mobility challenges like freezing gait, shuffling, and balance issues. • What started as a performance tool for athletes is now transforming lives in rehab. NewGait began its journey as the SpeedMaker, designed to improve running mechanics and athletic performance. But when Kim Spranger, a physical therapist, used it on a paraplegic patient… everything changed. From the track to the clinic, NewGait has evolved into a powerful rehab device—helping patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions take back their mobility. Innovation doesn’t always follow the path you expect. Sometimes, it paves a whole new one. #NewGait #FromSpeedMakerToRehab #InnovationInMotion #NeuroRehab #PhysicalTherapy #MobilityMatters #GaitTraining

  • Eric Parsells was always active — a lifelong athlete, fitness enthusiast, and inventor, movement was part of his identity. But when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, the mobility he once took for granted started slipping away. Simple activities became difficult. His stride shortened, balance wavered, and fatigue crept in. As someone who had built his life around activity and innovation, Eric wasn’t ready to give up. He tried various therapies and approaches—but nothing gave him the dynamic support he needed to walk with confidence… until he found the NewGait. The NewGait offered more than just physical assistance. It provided external cueing, improved postural alignment, and helped activate key muscle groups that Parkinson’s often suppresses. With the device, Eric experienced better stride length, improved balance, and most importantly—renewed independence. Now, instead of fearing each step, he embraces it. During Parkinson’s Awareness Month, Eric’s story is a powerful reminder: 🧠 Innovation matters 👟 Movement is medicine 💙 And hope is never out of reach Let’s continue to support those living with Parkinson’s and bring awareness to the tools that are making a real difference. #ParkinsonsAwarenessMonth #EricParsells #NewGait #MobilityMatters #NeuroRehab #ParkinsonsDisease #HopeInMotion #RehabilitationInnovation #PatientSuccess #MovementIsLife

  • March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, and a recent study published on HealthDay News by the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation sheds light on a critical aspect of recovery. The research reveals that where you live can significantly influence your recovery from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). People in neighborhoods with greater social needs were found to be less likely to receive home rehab visits or attend rehab clinics after a concussion or TBI. The study, which analyzed data from over 19,000 Medicare patients in Texas, underscores the need to improve access to rehabilitation services, especially for those living in underserved communities. Ensuring equal access to care can make all the difference in recovery outcomes for individuals with TBI. #BrainInjuryAwarenessMonth #TBI #TraumaticBrainInjury #HealthcareAccess #Rehabilitation #HealthDisparities #SocialDeterminantsOfHealth #BrainInjuryRecovery #HealthCare #March
