About us
The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Our message is based on the Bible, our ministry is motivated by the love of God, and our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless. Material and spiritual support is our standard - social services delivered with compassion is our model - anyone in need is our prerequisite. Eighty-two cents of every dollar we raise supports our various programs. We are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are deductible for Federal Income Tax Purposes to the extent permitted under Section 170(b)(2) for corporations.

Rain didn't stop the disaster services team from The Salvation Army of Jasper and Newton Counties from canvasing the Moundsville, MO, neighborhoods today to reach those most impacted by yesterday's tornado. They brought basic necessities and hope to so many families who are still without utilities. According to our staff members, several survivors expressed their appreciation for our continued presence and "loved the interactions, prayers, and food." Sometimes it's the little things that mean a lot. YOU can play a role in this disaster relief effort by making a donation at https://lnkd.in/e4asHus #LoveBeyondDisaster

Did you know... A half inch of ice on a tree branch or on power lines can add hundreds of pounds of weight. In severe ice storms, broadcast towers and similar structures hundreds of feet high can be crumpled by the weight of ice. In Northern Michigan people are still without power as a result of the recent storm, but they are not without hope. The Salvation Army is on the ground helping them stay safe, keeping them warm and providing meals. If YOU want to be a part of this disaster relief effort, learn more at: https://lnkd.in/ehJjKvA7

Our area of the country is currently experience severe weather. Just a friendly reminder to stay aware of what is happening in your location and keep an eye on the sky. We have our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) teams standing by in the event our services are needed, but we invite you to join us in prayer: Lord, we ask for your hands to guide any storm in our path and bring us peace and safety. We pray for the protection of others and may the weather soon return to its gentle ways. Amen.
