Giving Day isn't over yet! Students like Emily Stokes and Abigail Waechter had the opportunity to travel to New Orleans and New York City to attend the College Media Association's Conference and meet with professionals at The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. Thanks to Giving Day funds, our sports staff has the opportunity to travel nationwide, covering the teams and stories they love. Robert Keegan III and Charles Fadel reported from Ford Field at the Bobcats’ Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship Football Game and even traveled to Florida to report on the Cure Bowl. There's only a few more hours left! Click here to donate: https://lnkd.in/gKU9rttg

For over 100 years, The Post has been a cornerstone of Ohio University, providing independent journalism and hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for careers in media, journalism, advertising, and beyond. Giving Day is an opportunity to ensure this legacy continues. Donations help fund: 📍 Networking trips to major media hubs like New York City and New Orleans 🎥 Equipment like cameras, microphones, and tripods for high-quality storytelling 🏆 Entering student work into award competitions All of this has been accomplished while maintaining a balanced budget for four consecutive years. While advertising revenue supports operational costs, Giving Day donations allow The Post to grow, innovate, and remain a leader in student journalism. This year alone, The Post has published over 3,800 stories, produced 70+ videos, and won six prestigious awards—all while maintaining a balanced budget for four consecutive years. While advertising revenue covers operational costs, Giving Day donations enable The Post to grow, innovate, and remain a leader in student journalism. Students like Alyssa Cruz, Jackson McCoy, Sophia Rooksberry, Sophia Anness, and Kendall Timms have experienced firsthand how The Post provides invaluable opportunities. As Giving Day approaches, we at The Post reflect on our rich history and the crucial role our supporters play in empowering future media leaders. For over 100 years, The Post has been a cornerstone of Ohio University, and our continued success is thanks to the generous donations from alumni and friends who believe in the importance of student journalism. Giving Day is an opportunity to do more than just fund our stories — it allows us to experience hands-on learning, from networking trips to NYC and New Orleans to access to the best equipment for multimedia journalism. This year, we’ve published over 3,800 stories, produced more than 70 videos, and won six prestigious awards. None of this would be possible without your financial support. By donating, you’re directly contributing to our multimedia expansion, new technology, and student staff growth. Read our letter from the editor here: https://lnkd.in/giVCpKj8 As we approach Giving Day on April 2, I encourage you to help us continue The Post’s legacy. Athens native, Betsy Franjola, created the Hocking Hills Garment Center by repurposing an old church into a factory in Buchtel, Ohio. Franjola hopes to create meaningful jobs in the community, while also supplying local businesses with sustainable, quality clothing. HHGC also plans to launch their own in-house line, where they will oversee both sourcing and manufacturing.
