Athens native, Betsy Franjola, created the Hocking Hills Garment Center by repurposing an old church into a factory in Buchtel, Ohio. Franjola hopes to create meaningful jobs in the community, while also supplying local businesses with sustainable, quality clothing. HHGC also plans to launch their own in-house line, where they will oversee both sourcing and manufacturing. Did you know Ohio University hired a new Vice President of Advancement? Greg Simmons will be responsible for fundraising and developing strategies for raising funds. His work aims to help students pay for opportunities like studying abroad and making connections with alumni who can help them in the future. Lori Gonzalez said she believes Simmons is well-suited for the role and "believes deeply in the critical importance of public universities, and he recognizes Ohio University’s distinctive excellence."
