To date, more than 200 young people have visited Saratoga, Belmont and Aqueduct as part of NYRA's Leg Up! program. On track, the students discuss potential careers, visit the jockey room and paddock, and watch a race from the winner’s circle.

We had a major milestone at Aqueduct this weekend when jockey Kendrick Carmouche earned his 4,000th career win! “My dad is smiling down and he’s probably doing backflips right now… with the Woolf Award and me reaching 4,000, I give my dad the trophy. He deserves it,” Carmouche said. “He just told me to put the work in, and I put the work in. Little guy from Louisiana, you know. I got nothing but heart and nothing ever gives up in me.
