  • The Heritage Group and Indianapolis Motor Speedway have enjoyed a dynamic partnership for decades. It all began in 1937 when our first company, Crystal Flash, sponsored a car in the Indianapolis 500. By the late 1950s, Asphalt Materials, Inc. started supplying materials for track repairs, and in 1988, Heritage Research Group developed specialized asphalt mixes for the iconic oval. When the track was most recently paved, HRG developed the pavement rehabilitation strategy while US Aggregates supplied all aggregate for mixes, AMI produced all liquid asphalt and Milestone Contractors LP made and controlled the production of the mix.     In 2013, when IMS introduced a grand prix race requiring a new road course, our teams collaborated to design and construct the track in just seven months, showcasing our collective expertise.    Today, we’re excited to deepen our connection by sponsoring the Gasoline Alley exhibit at the newly renovated Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum celebrating our shared history and passion for innovation in racing.

  • Sustainability is more than just protecting our planet—it's about building a better future for generations to come. This Earth Month, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability by leaving our people, planet and communities better than we found them. The Center exemplifies this dedication, achieving LEED and SITES certifications and attaining Zero Waste to Landfill status with assistance by our portfolio company Envita Solutions. By eliminating single-use plastics, offering composting and recycling programs, and choosing sustainable catering, we’re leading by example. Let’s continue to make a positive impact on our planet and communities, not just during Earth Month, but all year long.

  • Aggregates are the major component of every construction and infrastructure project. Given their line of work, the hard-working folks at US Aggregates are natural rock stars. But sometimes inspiration takes hold, and those professional traits carry over into personal passions. Ahead of the 2025 mining season, we're honored to share “Blood, Sweat & Stone,” a song written and produced by Chad Roots and Anthony Treadaway, with a little help from Suno Ai.

  • Being first always came naturally to Elsie Eaves. A trailblazer in civil engineering, she was the first woman to earn a civil #engineering degree from the University of Colorado, the first female president of the university’s engineering society and the first woman granted full membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers.    She began her career in federal and state transportation roles before transitioning to Engineering News-Record (ENR), where she conducted market surveys and later managed the Construction Economics department. Her contributions to engineering and data analysis made her a pioneer in the field and an inspiration for women in engineering. #WomensHistoryMonth

  • Sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s a necessity. With over 2 billion tons of waste generated globally each year, businesses play a crucial role in reducing environmental impact. In the U.S. alone, that number reaches 292 million tons annually—with more than 50% of it ending up in landfills. But what if waste wasn’t wasted? What if plastic, metal and cardboard didn’t just get tossed aside but got a second life instead? That’s exactly what Envita Solutions is making possible. Read more about how Envita has grown into an industry leader in comprehensive environmental services.

  • Emily Warren Roebling played a pivotal role in completing the Brooklyn Bridge, forever transforming New York’s landscape. When her husband, the chief engineer, became ill, she initially served as his liaison but soon took on a leadership role. Her expertise in engineering and cable fabrication led to the bridge’s successful completion in 1883, making it the longest suspension bridge at the time and the first to use steel cables. She later dedicated her career to advocating for women’s equality and lecturing at women’s clubs. #WomensHistoryMonth #STEM #WomenInSTEM

  • Yesterday we welcomed dealmakers and business leaders to The Center for the Capital Markets Showcase. Hosted by ACG Indiana, the event highlighted Indiana's growing role in the national and global economy and featured a keynote address by Mitch Daniels—former Indiana governor and Purdue University president. The event served as a great opportunity for members of our Strategy Mergers & Acquisitions team to share our unique approach to investing in materials sciences, industrial services and environmental innovation to the local business community. If you attended, let us know what insights you learned and what connections you made.
