The Exec Club teamed with Hogan Assessments this morning to present the Talent and Culture Summit 2025, which focused on how to build future-ready leadership. A packed house was present for discussions with leading talent executives, who discussed emerging trends, strategies for addressing current talent challenges, and innovative tools to build and enhance talent pipelines. Key takeaways: • Leadership development is a $370 billion industry globally ($166 billion in the United States), with most programs including instructor-led training, assessments, and executive coaching. But the system is broken: 100 percent of the workforce say they’ve worked for an intolerable boss. Traditional approaches are failing because the three program components above are siloed instead of being used cohesively. • Businesses need to make context king when approaching leadership development. “If employees don’t understand their professional environment, they can’t adapt to it,” noted Erin Lazarus of Hogan Assessments. That includes an organization’s positions, strategies, culture, and goals, as well as its leaders’ functions and the culture they create for their teams. • Uncertainty and shifting landscapes have shortened the cycle of succession planning for businesses. Planning that was addressed annually is now being looked at quarterly and even monthly by the many businesses. The timeline for professional successions remains unchanged, however. • The most in-demand development topics are digital leadership, agility and adaptability, and emotional intelligence. Individualized programs tailored to each leader within specific companies represent a shift from a one-size-fits-all approach. They include individual reflection, luminary spotlights, peer learning and monthly pod coaching. Thank you to our speakers and moderators: Erin Lazarus (Senior Director, Business Development & Talent Solutions, Hogan Assessments), Sam Amelio (Head of Talent Management, Ferrara), Deborah Lee, PhD (Senior Director, Global Talent Management - Assessment, Culture & Engagement, PepsiCo), Meghan Moriarty (Gerrard), PhD (Senior Director, Talent Management, US Foods), Courtney Paynter (Vice President, Talent Management and Organizational Management, AbbVie), Lilly Lin, PhD (Executive Director, Russell Reynolds Associates), and David Lange (Managing Director, Global Head of Development, Russell Reynolds Associates). Board Director, President & CEO @ The Executives' Club of Chicago | Unlocking Potential for Business Growth
After Six Incredible Years, A Heartfelt Thank You—And an Exciting Next Chapter As I close this chapter as CEO of The Executives' Club of Chicago, I am filled with immense gratitude. Leading this storied organization has been one of the greatest honors of my career—a journey defined by transformation, resilience, and the power of community. When I stepped into this role, my goal was to revitalize the Exec Club, ensuring it remained the beating heart of Chicago’s business ecosystem. Together, we expanded programming, doubled membership, strengthened our corporate partnerships, and navigated a global pandemic, all while fostering a space where leaders across industries could connect, learn, and grow. But what I will cherish most are the relationships—mentors, colleagues, and friends who have inspired me every step of the way. The Exec Club is more than an institution; it’s a community of bold thinkers and changemakers shaping the future of business. Our board, staff, partners, and members are unparalleled leaders of this city! As I step into my next chapter, I’m thrilled to be joining Tilia Holdings as Managing Director and Chief Growth Officer. Tilia is leading the charge in transforming our food supply chain—making it safer, healthier, and more sustainable. Food is a critical sector of Chicago’s economy, and I’m proud to continue contributing to this city’s growth by working on innovations that will shape the future of how we produce and consume food. Though my role is changing, my commitment to Chicago’s civic and business landscape remains unwavering. I look forward to staying connected with this incredible community and watching the Exec Club continue to thrive. To everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you. Your support, energy, and belief in the power of connection have made all the difference. Let’s stay in touch! #Gratitude #Leadership #WhereTheFutureMeets #TiliaHoldings #FoodInnovation #Sustainability #NewBeginnings

What a night! Thank you to all of your members who joined us yesterday for an unforgettable evening with the Chicago Blackhawks. The evening started with an inspiring conversation between Danny Wirtz (CEO, Chicago Blackhawks; Co-Chairman, United Center) and Darren Pang (Television Color Analyst & Former Goaltender, Chicago Blackhawks). Key Takeaways: • Danny stepped into his leadership role during COVID-19. There were many challenges but it also gave him the opportunity and space to reimagine what was possible. • The Blackhawks strive to make the charitable part of their organization less of an arm of the business but more of a heart. It goes beyond what you do on the ice to what you do in the community. • The goal of the 1901 Project is to invest in the land, be good neighbors and build connections and community. • Chicago never leaves you. It’s good to see and experience the world and come back to the glory of Chicago. Following the conversation, members joined together to watch the Chicago Blackhawks face off against the Los Angeles Kings. Thank you to our presenting sponsor, KPMG US, for making this event possible!
