Building an ecosystem where circularity enthusiasts bond, ideas swarm and ventures are built

About us

What’s the biggest issue with most innovative ideas? They never make it to the real world. We’re here to change that in a field our future depends on - circularity. The Circularity Hub brings together experts, innovators and changemakers from various sectors and industries, curating an ecosystem of circular economy enthusiasts. We come together to engage, share ideas, explore partnerships, and collectively develop innovative solutions. Our goal is to leverage all the ideas and resources in our community and turn them into impact-driven startups or initiatives that contribute to a circular economy. Join us in building a world where materials are continuously repurposed and no value is lost along the way. Why do we do this? Our current economy is only 7.2% circular. A significant amount of resources is lost and cast off as waste, leading to increased pollution, the depletion of natural resources and the emission of greenhouse gases. To ensure a future for our planet and slow down the climate crisis, we need more materials to be recovered and brought back into the circle. We believe that only the power of collaboration and connection can drive this change. Curious to know more? Here’s how you can participate: - Join our 4-week CHIP program and build a circular business model for your idea - Sign up for one of our events, network & mingle with other circularity enthusiasts - Partner with us on building your next circularity project, event or initiative. The Circularity Hub is an initiative by NEEW Ventures, the venture builder by EEW - Energy from Waste GmbH.

  • 🌱 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐄'𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 Last week, a few of us attended an insightful fundraising workshop hosted by FASE Impact Hub Berlin, Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V., and Trividend. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 specifically tailored for ventures driving positive environmental and social change. Christoph from FASE delivered an excellent keynote that painted the landscape of venture capital, drawing comparisons between traditional VCs and impact-focused investors. The panel discussion featuring experts from 2bX, encourageventures e.V., and Trividend further enriched our understanding of what makes impact ventures attractive investment targets. 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 we're taking back to our circular economy startups: 🧐 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. The strongest evidence that a startup is 'investable' comes from paying customers, the caliber of the founding team (and how coachable they are), existing investors who've already taken the leap, and a clear path to revenue generation. 📋 𝐃𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬. When approaching investors, speak with other companies they've funded to understand their partnership style. Once you've selected investors, invest early in building strong relationships with them. 🛫 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞. Even impact VCs have fund lifespans and return requirements. Thinking about potential exit scenarios is a crucial part of investment readiness, regardless of your impact focus. ♻️ 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬. With 95% of VCs following traditional models, impact-driven startups need to deliberately seek out the 5% who balance financial returns with genuine commitment to measurable environmental and social impact. A big thank you to FASE, Impact Hub Berlin, SEND, and Trividend for organizing such a quality event, and to the panel speakers from 2bX, Encourage Ventures, and Trividend for sharing their expertise. Special appreciation to Christoph Rohde and Tom Josczok from FASE for their insightful presentations and moderation. Events like these are so important for strengthening the circular economy ecosystem, and we look forward to applying these lessons in our own work with impact-driven startups. #ImpactInvesting #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #VentureCapital

  • 🌍 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ♻️ After spending two full-on days at the inaugural Circular Valley Convention last week, we are more convinced than ever that 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲. The event was super well organized which helped us have a bunch of meaningful conversations, hear from professionals and startups with powerful insights, and come away with plenty of ideas to mull over. One recurring theme throughout the discussions was 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. This may come as a bit of a no-brainer, but it’s no longer a question of whether industries, governments, startups, and academia should work together—but 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. Regulation was another key topic, with Karin Huber-Heim pointing out that while policies provide an essential framework, they can’t be the sole driver of change. Instead, 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝-𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐆𝐎𝐬, 𝐜𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲—two non-negotiables in scaling circular solutions. Relatedly André Bardow challenged the very premise of the common question: 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘺? His answer? 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧—because it implies that some can afford to wait. The reality is that 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐧𝐨𝐰. Beyond the rich discussions, the startups that were showcased were a real highlight—each team bringing circular innovations that have the potential to reshape industries from the ground up. It was great having conversations with a bunch of you, to figure out ways we could work together in the future. And - it's really worth mentioning - the food was exceptional. Chapeau to whoever made the call on that one 👒 The Convention left us with fresh ideas, new connections, and an even stronger commitment to driving circular transformation. An you?
