  • It’s that time of the week again: Fun Fact Friday! Did you know that an interview goes both ways? That’s right! The best interviews are a give and take where the hiring manager gets to know more about you, and YOU get to know more about the company. This is your chance to get a better understanding of the company culture, team dynamics, and what day-to-day life will look like in your next position. Before your interview, do research on the company so that you can ask specific, targeted questions. This will show that you’re not only interested in the position, but in how your contributions will lead the team to success. And remember – never say, “I think you’ve covered it all.” There’s always something more to learn! If you’re looking for a partner in your job search, head over to www.thehirecompany.com to peruse our job openings and submit your resume now!

  • **Fun Fact Friday: Addressing Your Weaknesses**   Today we’ll tackle one of the trickiest interview questions, the dreaded, “What are your weaknesses?”   First things first: Just Breathe. Remember, nobody is perfect! Everyone has a skill they could improve, and your interviewer knows that. So, instead of pretending you don’t have any weaknesses, this is the perfect opportunity to show the hiring manager your proactivity in addressing them!   Start by acknowledging your weakness while minimizing its impact on your day-to-day. Most importantly, emphasize the steps you are taking to improve! Avoid personal qualities and focus on professional traits, such as communication skills or lack of experience.   It can be uncomfortable to acknowledge your weaknesses, but by illustrating the concrete steps you’re taking to address them you’ll be remembered as an honest candidate with an eye on self-improvement.   #chicagohire #staffing #recruiting #interviewtips #gethired

  • 🌟🌟 Temp of the Month Alert 🌟🌟 Say hello to our March Temp of the Month, Fletcher! Fletcher was referred to us by a fellow artist years ago, and since then has appreciated the flexibility and stability that temp work has offered. A familiar face for many of our clients, Fletcher remarked, “I trust that the jobs CHC suggest for me are in engaging, respectful offices.” But don’t just take our word for how amazing Fletcher is! Recently, he received some amazing feedback from one of our clients. “Fletcher did a really great job in my absence. The office was well maintained and, per my directive, fully stocked upon my return. I would definitely work with him again. He’s like a one-stop shop for our team 😊” When he’s not providing stellar admin support, Fletcher is a freelance puppeteer. When asked what advice he’d give to others pursuing temp work, he says, “Take a chance to learn what you can when you’re at new jobs, and be curious!” We couldn’t agree more, Fletcher. Keep up the great work! #tempofthemonth #recruiting #hiring #congratulations

  • **Fun Fact Friday: The Elevator Pitch**   Picture it: You’ve just sat down for an interview, and the hiring manager says, “So, tell me a bit about yourself.” Suddenly, you forget everything about yourself and freeze. Don’t worry – we’ve all been there! Today, we’ll share some tips on creating a succinct elevator pitch that captures your interviewer’s attention.   Step 1: Start with the past! Explain who you are and your formative experiences. Step 2: Move to the here and now! Share what your current position is and the kind of work you’re passionate about. Step 3: Look to the future! Talk about why you want to work for this employer and what makes you unique.   By following these three steps, you’ll create a succinct elevator pitch with a clear beginning, middle, and end that sparks the hiring manager’s interest. This will guide the interview so that you can showcase your skillset and leave a lasting impression!   If you’re looking to take your job search to the next level, reach out to Chicago Hire today! You can find open opportunities and more information on our website, www.thehirecompany.com.

  • 🌟🌟Temp of the Month Alert🌟🌟   March may be upon us, but we want to stop and take a moment to congratulate February’s Temp of the Month: Taylor!   Taylor turned to Chicago Hire hoping to find a more personalized job search. From their first interview, our recruiters knew their diverse skillset would be a perfect fit for our clients and it wasn’t long before they were out on a long-term assignment!   As an embroidery enthusiast, Taylor knows that every little stitch adds to the greater beauty of a project. With an eye for detail and spectacular organizational skills, she brings that same philosophy to her work ethic. From event planning to customer support to general admin duties, she handles all the “small things” that keep our client’s office running smoothly.   Congratulations on this achievement, Taylor, and keep up the great work! #chicagohire #tempofthemonth #congratulations
