🌍 Happy Earth Day To honor our planet, Syska Hennessy participated in Confetti’s Virtual Earth Day Mini games — a fun and meaningful way to celebrate sustainability together. From eco-themed brain teasers like "Goag Reen" to "Recycled Trivia," teams sharpened their minds while learning about environmental stewardship. But it didn’t stop there — our participation directly contributed to planting real trees across nine developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. 🌱 This event brought our team closer and reminded us that even small actions, when combined, can lead to big change. Here’s to continuing our journey toward a greener, more sustainable future. 💚 #EarthDay #Sustainability #GoGreen

This Earth Week, we added a little creativity to our commitment with a hands-on, eco-friendly activity: Decorating Dryer Balls through Needle Felting! Our teams came together to learn about the benefits of reusable dryer balls and created fun, personalized designs. It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that even small sustainable swaps can make a big impact. And there’s more: For every participant, we will plant a tree. Because while needle felting may be small-scale, the ripple effects are real. Let’s celebrate Earth Week with creativity, community, and climate-friendly choices. #EarthWeek #Sustainability #GreenTeam #NeedleFelting #EcoFriendly #SmallChangesBigImpact

Yesterday, Syska Hennessy's Green Team and HPS co-hosted a special Earth Week webinar, diving into the evolving role of sustainability in how we design, operate, and adapt our built environment. We were honored to be joined by keynote speaker Eric Corey Freed, RA, LEED Fellow, and Principal & Sustainability Director at CannonDesign. With his deep expertise in regenerative design and eco-district development, Eric led a thought-provoking session on the holistic strategies shaping greener, healthier, and more resilient buildings — from workplaces to public spaces. His talk emphasized: The power of decision-making in shaping sustainable outcomes How operations and design must align to reduce environmental impact A shift toward regenerative principles in architecture and planning The future of climate-responsive buildings that go beyond carbon neutrality Live from LAO, the session brought together colleagues and sustainability-minded professionals from across our firm to reflect, learn, and reignite our commitment to building a better future — one decision at a time. #SyskaGreenTeam #Sustainability #EarthWeek2025 #GreenBuildings #RegenerativeDesign #FutureOfDesign #CarbonNeutral

Flashback Friday: Engineering a Modern Icon at Manufacturers Trust 🏦✨ Taking it back to 1954, when Syska Hennessy partnered with @Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) to help bring a bold new vision to life: the Manufacturers Trust Company Building in NYC. As the first International Style bank building in the U.S., its all-glass façade and open interior design redefined what a bank could look and feel like. We provided mechanical and electrical engineering that aligned seamlessly with SOM’s modern, transparent aesthetic—proving that innovation in architecture starts behind the walls, too. #FlashbackFriday #EngineeringExcellence #MidcenturyModern #NYCArchitecture #ManufacturersTrust

Syska Hennessy is excited to be the MEP engineer for the recently announced expansion of The Broad museum in Los Angeles, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro! This $100M addition will double the museum’s gallery space and further cement its place as a cultural landmark. It’s always an honor to collaborate on projects that merge art, architecture, and community impact. Kudos to all the team members involved! #MEP #PeerReview #Enginering #TheBroad #TeamWork #CA https://lnkd.in/gymqc-xi

🎋 What can skyscrapers learn from bamboo? Turns out — everything. Bamboo survives hurricanes and earthquakes not through brute strength, but by bending with the force. It’s flexible, segmented, and intelligently designed — and now, engineers are taking notes. 🧠 From its hollow structure to its shock-absorbing fibers, bamboo is reshaping how we think about resilience in buildings — especially in a world facing stronger storms and rising seismic risk. At Syska, we believe the future of construction isn’t just tall. It’s adaptive. 💬 What other natural forms do you think we should learn from? #SyskaTeaches #Biomimicry #SustainableDesign #SmartEnvironments #SeismicResilience #NatureInspiredDesign #EngineeringWithPurpose #AECInnovation
