Recently, the Education Strategy Group introduced The Great Value Shift, a roadmap for postsecondary leaders to define, measure, and deliver value in higher education. “Delivering value first requires measuring it, but measuring value is hard, and there isn’t a single right way to do it . . . State higher education leaders have begun using it to determine what types of metrics are the most desirable—and feasible—to implement when measuring college outcomes.” Matt Gandal, CEO of the Education Strategy Group. 📚 Read more from Forbes: https://lnkd.in/ezuQkg8A

Last year, Strada introduced the State Opportunity Index, a quantifiable set of indicators developed to help states assess how well they connect education to opportunity. 📊 The State Opportunity Index includes baseline data in five focus areas: Clear Outcomes, Quality Coaching, Affordability, Work-Based Learning, and Employer Alignment. 💼 These five key areas provide states with a research-driven framework for measuring and improving policies and practices in the education and employment systems. Our President and CEO, Stephen Moret, shares his reflections on what we’ve learned so far and how the tool will continue to support state leaders in the years ahead: https://lnkd.in/e_qX-ZBN

What a week at ASU+GSV Summit 2025! We rolled into San Diego with our passionate crew, the RV, and some popsicles with a mission to spotlight real stories that are helping to shape education and the future of work. Here are some of the awesome activities we did: 🎥 Our production crew conducted 13 leader interviews with attendees and speakers from Pearson, IBM, Walmart, Workday, Gates Foundation, and more! 🤝 We connected with attendees from our existing network, introduced new folks to our work and mission, and cheered over paletas! 📚 Lastly, our "Rethinking Higher Ed" roadtrippers, Aislynn and Ruby, participated in a panel conversation with Strada Education Foundation's Justin Draeger where they talked about their time on the road exploring higher education. Thanks to everyone who shared space with us this week—can’t wait to continue more conversations! #RoadtripNation #ASUGSV

Apprenticeship programs have dramatically expanded in the past decade, providing more affordable paths to a range of careers and opportunities. 🔬 The team at New America started conducting a landscape analysis of degree apprenticeships in the United States, that will run until the fall of 2026. 🔎 The research findings will highlight exemplar programs and best practices, identify common barriers to developing and sustaining degree apprenticeships, and offer policy recommendations. https://lnkd.in/gaKeDdmU
NCAD is proud to join New America’s “Best of Both Worlds: Degree Apprenticeships Project,” generously supported by Strada Education. As a member of the project’s advisory committee, NCAD’s Eric Dunker, Ph.D. - alongside fellow leaders in the field - will support New America’s landscape analysis of Apprenticeship Degrees, helping to define quality criteria for U.S.-based programs. This work will highlight exemplar programs and best practices, identify common barriers to scaling job-embedded degrees, and offer policy recommendations to advance the field. 👏 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g97j3FnY A tremendous thank you to our friends and partners at New America for leading this important work. What an amazing weekend! More than 400 remarkable students enrolled at 49 HBCUs gathered for a summit in Dallas, TX. These talented young people - #StradaScholars - gathered, learned and reflected on leadership as they prepare for their careers. Several important themes emerged in the discussions, including the value of paid internships and the importance of education-to-career guidance and coaching. Special thanks to Dr. Ruth D. Jones, a keynote speaker who shared her remarkable leadership journey as a NASA scientist, Mr. Ernest Newborn II, an executive with USI and Strada's board chair, and Mr. Daryl A. Graham , Strada SVP and leader of the HBCU initiative. A couple of personal highlights from the Summit: ➡️ A presentation from Samarth Desai on Strada's strategy that I was able to join and that emphasized the role of internships in better earnings outcomes for students. ➡️ A panel of early career professionals that included Doris Juarez, M.S.Ed, D. Tremayne Horne, and Craig Robinson. ➡️ An insightful discussion with Dr. Florence Lyons from Albany State University on her dedication to providing work-based learning opportunities to students at the University. ➡️ Conversations with scores of talented students, including a celebration of 2025 graduates, such as Central State University's Jeremy and Elaina. What an energizing event and an incredible group of Scholars!
