“It’s about giving the stories back to these people.” This new STQRY-powered app uncovers the extraordinary lives buried in outback NSW cemeteries—like WWI mates Richard Slingsby and James Renshall, whose shared headstone hides a powerful story of survival and lifelong friendship. “If you go to the grave, you wouldn’t know that it’s a beautiful story of two mates surviving against all odds,” says historian Bernadette Drabsch. Developed in partnership with Central Darling Shire Council, the app guides visitors through the cemeteries of Menindee, Wilcannia, Ivanhoe, and White Cliffs. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e7FNKfPG

STQRY Spotlight: Meet Adrian Garcia, European Territory Manager ✈️ Fun fact: "As a child and teenager, I was very interested in aviation and model airplanes. Today, I can recognize any post-WWI aircraft in 5 seconds, and give you hundreds of facts about the model." Dream destination: "Japan. I'm really attracted to the aesthetics of Tokyo, the architecture, plus my favorite movie Lost In Translation takes place there." Most rewarding STQRY project: "They’ve all been rewarding because, in essence, you help to spread culture, science, and history. For example, the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid now has fully accessible interactive guides thanks to STQRY." Career advice: "90% of success in life is based simply on persisting." Industry trends: "I'm excited about the rise of AR tools and improvements in accessibility. Our technology can spark curiosity—like a great teacher who makes you fall in love with their subject." What keeps you motivated? "On the same day, I can be on a call with an art museum in Mexico and then with the heritage manager of a village in Tuscany. I’m passionate about helping our clients and offering the best solutions."

Our CEO, Thomas Dunne, and European Territory Manager, Adrian Garcia, recently spent time in Spain connecting with partners and exploring new opportunities. Highlights included a visit with José María Martín, Director of Digital Communication at Museo Lázaro Galdiano, and a meeting with Roland Noordermeer of Roland RiverDeep Narratives to discuss GPS-triggered storytelling experiences designed for river-based travel. We’re always inspired by the creative ways cultural leaders and innovators are using technology to make stories more accessible, immersive, and memorable. Where to next? 🌍
